First Disney Cruise (or any cruise) leave in about 20 days, final few questions

I have just a few questions before we are ready for our first cruise. I'd appreciate any help/advice.

-Is there anything I need to book once I get on the ship? We have our excursions booked and have a spot for one of us for a mixed drink event (will be asking for a second spot or cancelling that). Anything else I should be requesting or doing?

-We are most likely going to do a placeholder for another Disney cruise while on the ship. Is there a good time to do this?

-What do people do for tipping excursion guides? I googled and saw that some people might tip the guide and the driver separately. Is there a standard, ballpark amount if you thought it was a good excursion? I don't want to be insulting with a small tip.

-I think I remember reading that you can add Disney gift cards to your ship account for tips. Is this something I can do now or do I have to wait to get on the ship?

Anyone have any other advice for me?

Hi neighbor, fellow Buckeye here!

When you check in at port, before you board, review the navigator and see if there is anything else you would like to do. many times there will be notations as to where to sign up for things on the navigator, but seems like you have everything in order. Just one small reminder, you need to cancel any bookings by the date listed on your online check in to avoid being charged. If your companion can't get into the cocktail mixer you may still get charged for canceling. I've never seen them so this for a waitlisted activity though, but there is a first time for everything.

As for Onboard Booking... If You just want A Placeholder Fill Out The Appropriate Form on The First Day Of The Cruise. If You Know dates For The Future Cruise Still Do It the Day You Board, save Yourself A Ton Of Time In Line later.

I Cant Help With the Tipping as We Dont Do Excersions. I

As for giftcards.... You can preload them up to three days prior to your cruise by calling dcl or your travel agent. They can only load whole dollars. Or you can go directly to the pursers desk at boarding and add them. Either way beats standing in line on the last night to settle up. Just remember, save the card as anything left will get loaded back to the gift card.

-If you're interested in adult dining, you could see if there are any spots open (DCL holds back some spaces for booking onboard). Certainly not a requirement, but a nice thing, I prefer Palo brunch.
- Generally, waiting until the end of the cruise gives you a few more days wiggle room on the window closing date for that future cruise, but don't wait until the very last day.
-Usually tips will run $5-$20 per person for 1/2 day to full day tour (depending on how good the guide was and whether they did "extra" for you). You'll, most of the time, get a head's up from the guide as to where the tip box is. Sometimes the driver is the guide.
-You can purchase onboard credit with your Disney gift card pre-cruise. Or you can just wait until you board, go to Guest Services and have gift cards applied to your onboard account.

I live in Delaware, Ohio I'm sure you are looking forward to getting away from this dreary, freezing weather!! You can sign up for Palo or Remy brunch/dinner if you are interested in either. Also the princess or frozen character greetings and character breakfast can also be signed up for now if you're interested. We haven't booked a future cruise while on the ship, but it seems like the lines are usually the longest on the last day/night, so I'd try before then. Love your cat pic! I grew up in Oklahoma and am a Sooner fan, but was glad to see the Buckeyes win their bowl game, especially since their playoff berth was stolen from them!!

"Stolen from them" seemed like Iowa State knocked them out. Looks like Georgia proved they belonged with their exciting comeback tonight. There is always next year - Go Bucks (Whetstone Grad)

Iowa, not State. :jumping1:

It was Iowa, not Iowa State. I am a Buckeye and that was truly our Achilles's heel. Now, back to the Mouse!!
