First Dinner??

Planning our honeymoon in Disney and super excited.

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a first dinner? Or even second dinner. We don't mind using two credits but it needs to be on a plan. More romantic than something with characters or anything. Please share what you experienced and what made your must do lists and why. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks-

I love dinners that involve the fireworks as part of the experience. California grill in the contemporary hotel is a great date location. You have a view of the magic kingdom and when the fireworks start they dim the lights and pump in the music.
In Epcot Le Cellier is a great romantic one. With fantastic food! No fireworks during dinner but time it out so that you can leave dinner and watch illuminations before heading in for the night.

Victoria and Alberts. It is an elegant adults only meal.

We went to Victoria & Albert's for our first dinner, but it's only a available on the Platinum dining plan, so that may not be an option. We live locally, and don't do the dining plan, but we did get Tables in Wonderland, and the savings on our V&A's bill almost covered the cost of the card. Definitely worth checking into if you're interested. For our "second dinner" the following night, we went to Monsieur Paul at the France pavilion and it was a fantastic meal and very romantic. It's 2 credits on the dining or deluxe dining plan.

Since you're looking specifically for restaurants that accept the dining plan, I highly recommend Jiko. It's got a romantic atmosphere, a great wine list, and unique, delicious food.

The first ones that come to mind have already been mentioned: California grill, Monsieur Paul's, jiko. We also like citricos and artist point, but they're a bit noisier and don't have as romantic an atmosphere as the other three. We also love v&a, but it's not on the regular dining plan. We've also heard good things about narcoossee's, but we've never been there.

Whatever you do, don't go to Tony's.

Another vote for California Grill...not sure how different it will be after the remodel is done, but it's always been a classy venue with really good food and I LOVE LOVE LOVE walking out on the roof with my honey to watch the fireworks!

Also a big fan of Narcoosees. We ate there in January and DF said it was his favorite meal we'd ever had at Disney. Really nice atmosphere and you can see the fireworks right from your table in most cases...although usually the porch fills up with people who block your view from inside, but you could also go out on the porch. We stayed inside for the fireworks but then went outside and watched the water pagent. It was really lovely.

Our plans were to do a short day at DHS, then dinner at 8pm at Kona, after which we hope to watch the fireworks from Poly beach, our 1st night. Jiko is planned for our 3rd night, MK day, early dinner, then return to MK for fireworks. Now I am reconsidering. Jiko would be an awesome first night dinner, but we are both excited about Kona and a romantic evening on the beach. What to do, what to do?

Me too...maybe the beach makes up for it. I started thinking about logistics without a car...have changed our Jiko res to our AK day. Early dinner to allow time for us to enjoy our resort...WL...in the evening. Have tried to do that each day.
