Hi Everyone!

DF and I are getting married at WDW on Sept. 20. Our ceremony is very early (9am) and we are staying at the Poly (getting married there too)...part of the wedding package includes limo service and (I think) a meal at one of the restaurants (I believe there may be a specific list, but I'm not sure about that yet)...

ANYWHO! :goodvibes DF is a steak and potatoes type of guy, and I don't eat red meat (but I can usually find something on any menu, when it comes to food, I don't discriminate much! LOL!). I'm trying to decide where to go for our first dinner as husband and wife...I want it to be special and I want DF to get a good steak! :)

Any suggestions?

Great views, great sushi, great everything!!! I'd have to say California grill with a window table! Have fun! and Congrats!!

First of All CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :)
That is wonderful!!! I've always wanted to get married at WDW.
Anyways, steak places... My fave is Le Cellier at Canada Pav EPCOT. However, a lot of people have been raving about Yachtman's Steakhouse at Yacht Club Resort.
I think you can't go wrong with either one of those places for steaks.

If you're looking for ambiance, California Grill is very romantic. It's a revolving restaurant on the top of the resort.

Once again congratulations and wishing you a wonderful life together... :)

Thanks, everyone for the congrats and the ideas!

I think this is going to be a tough decision! ;)

I'm going to get DF to look at the menus for all those places and see what appeals to him (knowing that some of them may change before we get there).

I considered the Yachtsman steakhouse, and Shula's (but heard it wasn't "all that").

I hadn't considered the California Grill or the Castle...*sigh*...decisions, decisions! :teeth:

I'd recommend Jiko - they have a great filet and plenty of non red meat choices (for people like me too!). The filet comes with mac and cheese on the side, very "meat and potatoes" :)

CA Grill gets our vote as well. The filet there is delicious, we enjoyed it better than the one at Jiko. The view is lovely and there would be plenty of non-red meat dishes for you. It is so lovely at night to watch the castle change colors, and you might even catch the fireworks depending on the timing. princess: :earboy2: pirate:

Citrico has by far the most romance after V&A's. The menu can be altered a bit to suit most tastes (ie substituting mashed for other more exotic sides, or leaving off sauces.)

My next suggestion would be Jiko.

Shula's was good, but not at all romantic.

Yachtsmans would work if you have to have a traditional steakhouse--but be warned, it can get loud, and we've been bothered by obnoxious kids more than once while dining there--including my DH getting hit in teh head with a roll. :sad2:

We're eating our first dinner as husband and wife at CRT. Hopefully I'm going to time it so we watch wishes from the restaurant.

Really? You're sure? Revolving? The drinks must be VERY strong there, then, cuz I never saw it move...

It doesn't revolve - unless you have a few too many of their cosmos...he-he!

The California Grill is our favorite, we just celebrated our anniversary there and they made it very special.

I agree-it will be a tough decision. Happily, almost all the restaurants mentioned (even the non Steak houses) have good steak. And the steakhouses have good alternative selections.
So I'd vote California Grill, then Jiko, then Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Be aware--you WILL encounter children at all of these restaurants, in various stages of behavior and under varying degrees of "control" from adults.

I was at Narcoossee's last night and it's a little noisy, but it has great views of the fireworks, castle, and electric water parade. I had salmon, but there was filet mignon and a pasta dish on the menu also. I think it would be a nice choice for you. Also, I know there are lots of questions on the boards about attire at the restaurants, and everyone I saw last night was dressed nicely (dresses, jackets for men), no shorts or park attire. I was surprised at this, because even at the CG, you get lots of shorts, tank tops, etc. Also, there weren't alot of kids.

:sunny: Hi and congratulations

My sister got married in 2002 at the wedding pavillion. She chose Narcoossees for her meal which was lovely. They dimed the lights for the firewoks and piped in the music. We all stood outside on the terrace. The food was great too. I'm not a great meat eater and had some lovely salmon but most of the rest of the family had steak and enjoyed it.

For my birthday last November we chose California Grill. I have to say I thought it to be nicer. We arrived just in time for Wishes which we watched fro the balcony and were then seated next to the window with a beautifull view of the castle all lit up. :goodvibes

I'm sure you wil have a great time wherever you go ;)

Mrs Belle:
Dresses and jackets at Narcoosee's?? I've eaten there about 7 times now and honestly can't recall EVER seeing anyone in a jacket, and rarely anyone in a dress.
And hardly any kids??
Must have been some special event or something----

hmm... the last time we were there which was several years back (before all the added rules: clothes, check in downstairs, etc. etc.), someone told us it was a revolving restaurant.
Oh well, maybe they changed it now... :confused3 or it never was... and I was nuts... :scratchin:

I thought I'd throw in a pitch for Artist Point. While I love California Grill, it would seem a little loud to me for a first meal. Whatever you choose, congratulations and have fun!
