First Designs

These are some of my first tries at designs. I want to make t-shirts for DF and I for our honeymoon in July. I would love any feedback. The thing that is hardest for me is the whole "negative space". I can never seem to figure out what to do with all the areas that have nothing in them.

This one is for DF, he likes Tim Burton and I knew I could get him to wear this if nothing else!

This was inspired by patnl34's design for a year of a million dreams design. Like I said before, not sure what to do with the backgrounds so I find myself just filling it with one basic color.
