I have read reviews where people say they wake up early on their first day at disney due to time difference etc.

I am thinking of doing an early ADR at crystal palace so we can make sure of being up early and get into magic kingdom early.

How do people get on for the remainder of the day ........ do you keep going to be able to see the fireworks or do you give in mid afternoon.

I cannot decide whether to book a table service for the evening, and even whether to do MK on the first day or do another park.

Thoughts please ( sorry there will be quite a few questions over the next few days - apologies) :goodvibes

We did that last year and got the earliest at CP 8.05 a.m. and it is great to get photos outside the castle as hardly anyone is around.

We usually go the MK for our first day, has become a tradition, we then know we are in Florida:rotfl2: We are going to 1900 Park Fare this time and then into MK for opening.

We usually start flagging around 6.00 p.m. so usually get an early dinner reservation - it usually takes us a few days to get into Florida time. We do take jetease tablets now though which have really helped us and work for coming home too. They are just a vitamin tablet which airline hostesses take too, apparently:thumbsup2

Have fun planning.

I usually keep going fine. My body clock adjusts quickly and we are quite nocturnal anyway which helps! On our second day time before last we won armbands for an after hours party at Epcot. We partied away until ten with no problems at all although DD then 5 was tired at the end (more to do with all the dancing with character I think.

I would stay up as late as you can comfortably to let your body clock adjust. At least it is easy getting up early the first couple of mornings.

We go to MK and get there early enough to see the opening show, we stay till about 3pm and then go back to the hotel where we swim and then have a snooze, then go back to a park in the eve to see the fireworks. There is no way we could stay all day, by lunch we are flagging.

We started at MK during our last holiday and had booked T-Rex for 4pm as we knew from experience that we wouldn't manage much later than that (or should I say the kids wouldn't).
One thing worth checking is that the day you are looking at isn't also an EMH day - as it was for us. We thought we had planned everything perfectly but then couldn't get past the gates at the TTC to see the opening ceremony.
You would be OK as you will have a reservation at CP - but it might be dissappointing if you were expecting an empty Main Street.

I wish I'd booked CP for our first morning as we were awake at 4.30am!

We went to the MK for opening our first day anyway but by 2 we were ready for a swim and relax.

We then went to AK for PM emh, but that was only until 8pm. I dont think we'd have enjoyed the crowds at a firework park that night.

Our son gets up very early EVERY day, whether we are on holiday or not.
When we visit the parks we always get there for park opening.

The downside to that is he often doesn't want to go out later in the day, so our late afternoon and evening activities are 'unpredictable'. :)

Hence we rarely plan our days when we are in Florida, wouldn't be any point.

We also go to MK on our first day, I don't think I could go to another park first! :) one of the best things about staying on site is being able to go for a rest in the afternoon and then back for the evening :goodvibes

We do take jetease tablets now though

Jtlover: are these available over the counter?

We always go to MK first day - always for Rope Drop. We often find we stay really late - but like PP we are a little nocturnal (love EMH). You've inspired me to book character breakfast too!!!

Last 2 trips we have booked an early breakfast at CP, then stayed until around 1pm, we go back to hotel to swim, rest & finish unpacking. We head back to MK around 7pm (evening emh's) & have CS dinner. We get fast passes on the way out & use them at night. It works well for us & we hope to do it this year.

When we arrive we go into Universal and stay out as late as we can. This helps us slip into the new time zone and normally wake up at a decent early time.

First day is spent at whichever park is the quietest.

It would be a good day for an earlier breakfast because the more you go into the holiday the more rest you need.

Personally we get to MK for opening so we can see the opening show. This is a great start as it is absolutly magical :cloud9: We then head start to main street bakery for a nice cinnamon roll to start our day.

We never rush around to the rides on the first day.

We always take an afternoon break (swim & nap) then have a table service dinner then back for some fireworks :goodvibes
