First Day Traditions

We've only been twice as a family - and both times we drove. We planned to get in to Orlando the day before check-in, late afternoon-ish. We spend the evening having dinner and just relaxing, so we can get up early and head to Disney.

Our traditional first day is to get to the resort and check in. Room ready? Great! If not, we'll leave everything in the van until it is. We immediately head to Magic Kingdom. We aim for rope drop (we made it both trips) and then our first stop in Magic Kingdom is The Chapeau for ears/ball caps. Then we enjoy the day!

Our first day is almost always DTD. We rarely go into the parks unless we arrive really early in the morning.

Our first day tradition has become EPCOT in the evening and dinner at Biergarten yum yum! We have a last minute trip coming up in 2 weeks to see the Osbourne Lights one last time, and I booked the dessert party that night, so our tradition will go on hold for one trip :flower:

1st day, check-in and unpack, not on vacation until I unpack . 1st park day, breakfast at Crystal Palace then Jungle Cruise and Pirates. Same for last day too! I start with Eeyore and end with Eeyore.

We usually don't get there until after dinner, so we unpack, watch some Stacey, and go to bed early. Then the first park is always MK, and our first ride is always the Haunted Mansion!

First day tradition is the do the full monorail circuit. Evening at DS, getting there by boat from POR. Eating dinner at resort or at Trails End at FW.

Never a park day

We always do Magic Kingdom on our first day! I just don't feel like my trip has started until I walk down Main Street and see the castle!!

We arrive around 4:00 to check in to DVC. Walk to the store for some sundries and get the "lay of the land". Since we usually stay at SSR, we then walk over to DTD(DS) and Raglan Road for a Daulkey Duo and a beer flight. Then we walk around DTD(DS) to digest and soak in the positive Disney vibes. Once we get back to the resort, we get a good night's sleep so we can enjoy our first full day at Disney(usually Epcot)! Arrival day is always my favorite because the entire trip is in front of me. I love it and try to savor that feeling.
