first day strategy?

Hi, all!

We will be arriving on Sun, 10/19 into MCO at 2:30p, picked up by town car, and hopefully arrive to the Poly by 4:00p (no grocery stop). We have a PS at Chef Mickey's for 6:30p

Here's the question: My DS4 really wants to ride the Star Wars ride at MGM as his first ride. Do you think we can get checked in and over to MGM, stand in line, ride Star Tours, and make it to Chef Mickey's by 6:30p? (I believe we'll be bussing it from Poly to MGM and MGM to Contemporary?) (The next day is MK day, and with shorter hours in October, I don't see it feasible to park hop that day; MGM is on the schedule for Wednesday afternoon.)

Nope.

You could change your PS to a later time....like 7:30pm. Then I would say okay. you have time.....

Have a great first visit. Remember to stop and enjoy ambience and atmosphere of WDW as well.

Sorry, forgot to put that in my post. The only other time available was 8:00p--which is just too late to wait to eat from a day of travel (as we'll be on the plane during the lunch hour, but served no lunch), plus I want to be back at the Poly for the EWP at 9:00p

I don't think you can do it, either. Perhaps a quick visit to Epcot or MK, both of which are on the monorail, as is The Contemporary. Another option would be to book Chef Mickey's the next day for breakfast around 11:15 AM, treat it as a lunch, and spend your time on the day of arrival at MGM.

I would do as 44Disney said. Change your PS and spend your arrival day accomodating your son. Take him to Star Tours and perhaps eat Dinner at one of the great table service restaurants at MGM
