First Day realistic ADR time???

I get to make ADR's in 2 days . We're flying into to Sanford Airport at 1:00PM on Thursday Aug 20th and have been told it's a 50 minute drive to Coronado Springs.

Being conservative I'm assuming we'll arrive at the resort no later than 3:00PM. What is a realistic time to make an ADR for the first night? We'll be hungry so early is better and preferred...but I don't want to cut it too close with getting organized in room and be unable to make reservation.

It's our 1st trip back to WDW since my boys were little (they're now 13 & 16). Thinking about something close to our resort. Mama Melrose Fantasmic, 50's Prime time or something in Epcot since it's a late EMH night.

I'd say you should be safe with 5:30 or later.

My advice, the later you feel comfortable booking the better. Travel is fraught with chances for delay...we personally no longer plan TS on the day we get there...beacuse of this...

...we were supposed to fly to Disney October 14th, 2006 in the AM out of Buffalo, arriving at WDW at 11 AM. We had a ADR for 5:30 PM at Teppan Edo. Well, due to a freak snowstorm that buried buffalo on October 12th, our flight was canceled and we had to drive to Pittsburgh to get to Disney at ALL on that day. (We would've lost at least 2 days of our 6 day trip had we waited to fly out of Buffalo.) We ended up getting a 7 PM ADR at Marrakesh instead.

Now the subsequent trips were in September and August, so no chance of snow. (Though honestly that October storm was a "first in history" in October, so who would've though that either.) But last year there was a hurricane just leaving Orlando (August 23rd, right around your dates!) and our flight was delayed for 2 hours getting in. We were supposed to get in around 5 PM, and we didn't get to the resort until close to 8 PM.
