We're goingto DL! We're WDW pros, but excited about seeing where it all began. Here's the question: What's a good first day strategy given a likely late start?

We arrive late Monday(around 9 pm), 6/27, staying at Hojo. Since we're from NJ, we'll either wake up super early (EST) on Tuesday and get moving with a mid-day break; or we'll have a lazy morning to start the day and then go over and probably stay until Fantasmic/Fireworks. We'll be there until Saturday (and can leave anytime on Saturday since we're transferring to West Hollywood for a few days).

How manageable would DL be on a Tuesday, going through the gates late morning or early afternoon? Since we'll have 5 day hoppers, we don't have to do it ALL in one day, but would like to at least hit HM, PotC, and IASW in addition to the smaller attractions. I'm also quite happy to start at DCA if necessary, but walking through the castle on day one and doing a couple of top draws is a must!!

So far, all I have planned is Blue Bayou for an early lunch on Wednesday - I figure everything else can be filled in a little more spontaneously since we'll want only 1 or 2 nice meals in the hotels.

Thanks,
Dirk

Hi Dirk.. we may see ya on Saturday warm up the parks for us..

.. we arrive on the July 1st but don't plan on any parks until Saturday, the 2nd of July. We figure that July 3 and 4 will be very busy and we plan on Magic Mountain and family time. Then back to DL and DCA on for Tuesday and Wednesday before we head to SD for the zoo/animal park and maybe SeaWorld. Then back to DL/DCA for the grande finale tour before our plane..

I figured-week is better than weekend for DL that time of year! You'll love San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. The zoo can easily be a full day in its own right!

Hi Dirk...probably will see you there as well..we leave NJ on 6/24 into San Diego until Monday 6/27 (SeaWorld, Padres Game, Zoo).......we arrive at DLH that evening through Sunday July 3rd...we are planning on doing

Tues: DL
Wed: DCA
Thurs: DL
Friday: Hollywood/LA morning
afternoon: DCA
Sat: park hop at DL/DCA

with midday pool breaks throughout................

Hey Dirk, you are going to have so much fun!

You might want to consider taking advantage of your jet un-lag to do your Early Entry Tues. You can do Fantasyland then--don't miss the Matterhorn, ALice, or Mr. Toad.

I wouldn't waste a day of a hopper ticket arriving mid day--that week is pretty busy, and the lines start to get long around 11:30. If you want to sleep in, you might want to go to DTD, check out the Grand Californian, etc.
