Hey all, been having a tough time deciding when to leave NJ to head down to UO. I'm estimating it'll take about 18 hours a staright drive down there stopping only to use the bathroom and grab some food.

Usually, check-in is around 2pm so in my perfect plan we would get there around that time. The problem would be leaving NJ around 8pm the day before and driving straight through the night. That will be something I'm dreading to do again... but I figure I could take a 3-5 hour nap and still be able to get up and do something before the day is over.

Is there something worth doing besides the parks in UO? I'll be with my wife and 4 daughters (2-8).

I'm thinking we could head over to Downtown Disney and have dinner somewhere.

So what would you do in my situation? Remember we want to keep it a straight shot to UO making it a 18 hour drive and still do something that first day without ruining our chances of getting up early the next morning for Harry Potter. Sounds awful I know, I just wanna see where I'll most likely have to break the plan.

Thanks in advance. :thumbsup2

My husband and I drive straight through (taking turns) from Central PA which is 12 hours to the GA/FL border then another 3ish. On occasion if we are running early for our check in we stop and spend some time in Daytona or St. Aug before we head over to Orlando.

I'm assuming we aren't going to get that much sleep in the car because of comfort. I can sleep but my wife can't for some reason. Also the kids might wake us up more often than not. I guess we'll just have to tough it out.
