Our day of arrival is a MK EMH morning day. And since we won't get to POFQ until 10:30am, I know we shouldn't head to MK. I am trying to decide if we should plan to go to MK later that day, around dinnertime, since MK is our favorite park and we all hate that we aren't going there first thing. Advice anyone? Do you think the crowds will thin out by dinnertime? We are going at the end of June and I was thinking that lots of the people there early will head out by later in the day to cool off in the pool. Or should we just skip MK that day and start out fresh the next morning?

If you can't take advantage of EMH (especially morning ones), it's generally recommended to avoid the park that has them. I would wait until the next day so that you can spend your first full day at MK.

It depend what you want to do at the park that day. If you are wanting to get some attractions in, then it would be better to save it and do it properly the next day. However, we also arrive in the second half of June and our flight gets in early evening so we are not likely to get to a park much before 8 pm. Yet, we have decided to pencil MK in for that evening, however we have no intention of hitting any of the rides so we should be ok with this. We plan to get something to eat at Cosmic Rays or some other CS location, collect our Photopass card from the Photopass desk and just let MK welcome us in for the trip. We have only selected MK because we don't plan to ride anything that night and will be there early the next morning to make a good day of it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Of course when I told my family that I thought we should avoid the MK that first day everyone was unhappy. I guess if we can get a fastpass or two for that evening and plan on dinner at MK it might be OK. The debate rages on... anyone else want to weigh in?

Avoid parks with EMH, unless the only time you will be there is during EMH and every other park is closed if short wait times are your goal.

Are you flying or driving? If flying, is that when your plane lands? If so, and if you are taking ME, you won't get there at 10:30.

On our first day, our plane lands at 10:30 am. I have planned a resort day to just unwind after travelling and to start the next day fresh and ready to go. We are staying at POR, so I know there will be plenty for us to explore! That night we are going to have dinner at Boatwrights, and hit the sack early. It all depends on if you can wait though. For us, we're just happy to be there and smell the Disney air first thing! Others can't wait to hit the parks.

We are flying and our flight gets in at 8:30am so we'll have a lot of time to spend at the parks once we get to Disneyworld. Plus we are only staying 4 nights so don't want to waste a minute of possible park time! :)
I am thinking Epcot for a few hours, pool for a bit and then MK for an hour or so. We ended up switching from POFQ to Wilderness Lodge so it'll be easy to get over to MK after dinner.

I would book fastpass+ for your arrival night after an early dinner at MK as your family wants. granted our arrival day is an evening EMH day, we are driving and expect to arrive noon or so. our plan is to book our passes for 5, 7 and 8:30 after dinner at a CS.
