We are taking a short vacation to Disney in December.
We have 3 dates we can go to the MVMCP. They are Dec11th, 12th & the 14th.

I ruling out the 12th since it is a Friday & the crowds are probably heavier on Friday nights.

So, that leaves the 11th (our first full day) or the 14th (our last full day)
Which one would you choose. The 11th is on a Thursday & the 14th is on a Sunday.

I am somewhat leaning towards the 14th so it would be a nice send off & a kick off to get us in the Holiday spirit when we come home.

Any thoughts?

Well, I am in a similar, but a bit different boat. My first day is 12/14 and after checking into Pop Century, technically, we could do MVMCP without having to burn through a day on our 6 day PHP's. I just don't know if I want to do this the first day. We will be there for a week. I can't decide if we should do it then or wait until Tuesday(12/16) or Thursday(12/18). There is no way in Hades I would do it on Friday the 19th since it's the last one and the locals will be out in full force. I can't decide either. And the other wrinkle for me is that I am hoping for a really good CP announcer. If the announcer on Sunday is better than Tuesday, then MVMCP will be on Tuesday for sure. But then I worry about rain and decreasing my chances of doing it at all. AHHHHHHHH!!!
 Sorry tension breaker, had to be done. lol Mickey

I would pick the beginning of my trip. We were there this past Dec. and luckily had tickets for one night during the beginning of our trip because it POURED DOWN RAIN the entire night (it started raining 7:10pm right after the party started) It rained so hard that they cancelled shows and the first parade. This past Dec. was an unusally rainy Dec compared to traditional Decembers (from what I have read on these boards) I was glad we had this scheduled for the beginning of our trip (even though it rained) . We were able to exchange our tickets for another night later in our trip, which turned out to be a great night! I would have been very upset if we missed this event because it was a lot of fun!

I will be there beginning 12/15, so think I will try for Tuesday, Dec 16 to get me in the spirit of the season. Rather than burn a pass on Monday, since I'll be arriving in the afternoon, I think I'll use that afternoon and evening to tour some of the resorts to see the decorations. In the event rain cancels Tuesday, I would still have Thursday to fall back on. At least that's my thinking now.

We did do our MVMCP early in our trip but didn't know they were giving the next MVMCP for those of us that were rained out. If I had it to do over I would still do early in my trip allowing for if it rains that hopefully we can get in and do it again. Make sense? Past my bedtime ;)

That said...I still had a great time with hubby even though we were literally soaked to the bone. Nothing like doing BTM and having to keep your eyes closed cause the rain hurt when it hits your eyeball that fast LOL We would just look at each other and laugh at the silliness of us running around that soaked but I'll say another thing... I walked onto BTM and Space Mtn MANY times that night. And even the WTP ride wasn't that long of a wait but it was the longest wait of our night (maybe 10 minutes). The fireworks went off as we were in that line but we were under cover and not going out for nuthin'! LOL

Another thing...we have before and after pictures of our night. Us dry and no ponchos and then just before leaving for the night we had another taken of us soaked and wearing our ponchos. What a night! I can't wait to go back and do it all over again only drier! LOL

Have a blast when you go!!!!

Last year we went to the last one (dec 20th), we arrived the day before (late) so it was at the beginning of our trip. It was a great way to start off the xmas vacation.. gets you right in the mood. And, because they swtich the parade after the last MVMCP, we didn't have to watch the parade in the park if we didn't want to stay and wanted to go elsewhere. We actually hung out at the hotel for the day (slept in a little as we knew it would be a late night), swam at the pool and were able to enter the park for the party at 4pm, had dinner at LTT and then the fun was ready to begin. It was a great first day. As long as you have gotten the rest from the travel so that everyone can stay up late.. I would say go for it!

Thanks everyone.

I wasn't even thinking of rain....you mean the weather doesn't always cooperate??? ;)

I think we will do it the first night we are there, that way if it does rain we can always try the next night.

Plus it would be a nice way to kick off our mini vacation!
