First day at WDW

the first day we arrive I am planning on going to Animal Kingdom spending the day there until closing at 5pm Here is my question. Can I get a bus directly from Animal Kingdom to DTD and then back to All Star Sports where we will be staying

There are no direct buses from the parks to DTD. You'll have to go to a resort and then hop a bus to DTD.

No buses between any park and DTD (or vice versa).

You could take a bus from AK to AKL, then wait for a bus to DTD... But for $20 I'd just take a taxi from AK to DTD.

You could take a bus from AK to AKL, then wait for a bus to DTD.

I would do something like this. You don't have to take a bus back to YOUR hotel. Take a bus to the hotel closest to AK or DTD and then go from there. If you go to Port Orleans, you could take the boat from there to DTD.

so this brings me to another question, how do I get back to All Star Sports from DTD?

There will be a bus from DTD to any Disney Resort. Just hop on the bus to your resort

Buses can be hit or miss from DTD to the resorts. We usually take a cab from DTD to the resort (and vice versa) as well as from the resort to Animal Kingdom. Cab should be no more than $20 including tip.
