First day...AK...mid-day...OK?

We will be arriving in Orlando close to noon on Saturday Nov 4 for a too-short 3 night trip. Wanting to maximize park time, I am wondering if it would be worth it to head to AK that day. I have an AP but DF will have to buy a one-day pass (she has three days left on a PH to use the following three days). We will likely not get there until 1pm, and it closes at 5 that day. Worth it, or no? Will it be too crowded to actually see or do anything? If we don't go to AK that day we likely won't get there, as we are going primarily for the F&W Festival.

It wouldn't be worth it for me. But if you could buy a 1 day hopper (don't know if you can) then it might be because you could hit AK for a while, then go to Epcot for even more Food & Wine.

It's hard to say if it would be worth it for y'all; but I wouldn't attempt the AK with only about four hours to visit. I would recommend visiting a park that stays open later in the evening.

AK is a park we have never spent more than a half a day at so you could do a lot in the time you are there. Fast passes may not be available though. We did water park one am then got to AK around 2pm and there were none left for rest of day. We still got to do EE,Safari,Bugs Life,Dinosaur and Primeevil twirl. There are a lot of walk through and animal viewing areas plus shows like guys w/drums etc so it was still a fun afternoon.

Thanks for the opinions. We have Boma reservations for 5:30, and figured we would go to DTD for the rest of the evening. DF is very excited to go; she has not gotten to travel much in her life and loves WDW, and has only been able to go for very short trips as her DH was quite a bit older and in ill health so she could not leave him for very long. Sadly, he passed away last week so I really want her to have a great time and I am actually footing the bill for her trip so I don't really care about whether the $$ are worth it, I just am trying to figure out if it would be a wasted afternoon. Again, thanks for the opinions.

I'm also going to AK my first day. We're arriving a little after 11am and we'll be eating lunch in the park. I think you could do a lot with a half day but you may have to leave before closing to make that Boma reservation. I'm going for 9 days and have 2 days planned for AK, but this park doesn't have as many attractions as others so you should be ok doing things you want to the most. You won't be able to do it all though.

$60 SEEMS LIKE ALOT FOR A FEW HOURS IN THIS PARK TO ME...I would relax, don';t fee l rushed to get there--check in and then maybe get to the AK a little early and explore that beautiful resort before your dinner and before it gets too dark to see the animals... then on to DTD--that is a fine first day....
