First Date ?'s

Hi everyone - I don't post over here alot but know this a good place to be if you have ?'s about life ..

I am a single mom age 34 and have recently posted on cupid.com I meet someone last week and we have been Im ing like crazy and for long hours ( like 4 and 6 hours at a time ) we seem to have a lot in common and a few opposites . he is a single dad so knows what its like to work and juggle kids . I have been single now for 6 years and in that time i have had only 2 dates - sounds sad but i wan't ready to date .. now i am and am meeting up with this guy tonight - we are meeting at the local mall and will go to dinner if we seem to click in real life. I have been honest in all my chats and he claims to be but i am soo nervous I can't even hardly concentrate.. Is this normal ?!!

just looking for a little support and advice on how a first date should go - seem like we already know alot about each other - what if i can't think of anything interesting to say??!

Well, just make sure you stay in a public place, and don't reveal too much info like where you live and things like that unless you see a future there.

I know many people who met this way, and one of my closest friends met and married her husband through Match.com

If you two can IM for 4 to 6 hours at a time, I hardly think you'll run out of things to say to each other. Sounds like you two have already hit it off pretty well.

Very expected to be nervous, but don't worry about it. You already know you get along with this man, just go out and have a great time!!!

Its' normal to be excited/nervous when meeting someone for the 'first' time.

I also want to say don't give out too much personal info and stay in public places-- you cannot be too careful. If you run out of things to talk about try to expand on some of the things you have been IMing about. Just be yourself.


Also, make sure a friend knows who you are going out with and where you are meeting.

I have told 2 friends when and where. and will stay in a public place.
I will try and post tonight when i get home - i will not be out too late - i don't think anyway - the Amazing race 6 is on!!
if all else fails I guess i could talk disney - he said he has never been but would like to go sometime !! LOL ..

OK so i went . and i realized why we chatted for so long.. he just talks and talks and talks and its mostly about his feelings his ex wife and the the past few girls he dated.. it was weird .. Haa haa nothing kinky or if he did i missed it while i was sitting there thinking about how i could have been christmas shopping or cleaning the kitchen floor !!

He did look like his photo so that was good..

Yep i will just hang around and try again..
