FIRST DANCE

That was amazing!! My df asked if that's what i wanted to do. LOL :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Am I the only one that thinks first dances like this are overdone and lame?

I'm sure you aren't the only one.

I, for one, appreciate the extra work that went into these versions of a "first dance". It looks like lots of fun for everyone, including the bride and groom.

If you think this is overdone and lame, I can't imagine what you think of a more 'traditional' first dance.

You can think they are overdone and lame. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and what is overdone and lame to you can be very special and romantic to others. I think most people, upon seeing a choreographed first dance, would appreciate the work that went into it and would have a good time with it. You just may not be that kind of person.

We took dance lessons for six months and choreographed our first dance to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra. We did the dance in the American Adventure rotunda while all of our guests looked down on us from the second floor. While I was initially skeptical about the lessons and choreographing the dance, I wouldn't change it for the world! Everyone had a great time, and to this day people compliment my wife and I on it. Plus, we found that taking the lessons and learning dance together was a fantastic time for us!:thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing. I love it! So funny and so us. I have to show it to my Husband and see what he thinks about it. I would love to rock it out. Not as long as the video, I think 2 minutes is good enough. :thumbsup2

That sounds beautiful! (I LLLOOOOVVVVEEE that song!)

We totally plan on doing this! There was a show, I think it was called "Rock the Reception" or something like that.... I told DF that we are totally doing it! Our girls dance and we are really good friends with all the owners and teachers at the studio... we plan on asking one of them to choreograph something fun like that for us...

Some of you may have seen this before....
This is a video of our first dance.

We had 8 months (yes, that's right... eight) at a dance studio and we even had our instructor at the wedding with us. All of our guests loved it and we still get lots of compliments. It was a fun thing for us to do together and something that we'll always remember. We even got to perform our dance in the dance recital! I wore my dress and DH wore a suit and we got to do it on stage and everything. The studio had another couple that had two months of lessons and their dance was lovely, but much more simple when you compared it to ours.
