My wife and I will be going on our 2nd cruise, the first was on the Wish and we unfortunately couldn't dock at Castaway Cay due to high winds. This time it'll be just my wife and I! We'll be going on the Dream in November that goes to Lighthouse and Castaway! We're both hoping that will increase our chances of going to at least one of them lol.

Anyways, I wanted to ask for those who have cruised without their kids, ours are 3 & 5, is the wifi package good enough to where my wife and I can FaceTime? We already feel guilty about going somewhere without them, this is the first time we've ever both been gone simultaneously!

I saw AT&T has a cruise package so wondering if anyone has done that? Thanks all, really appreciate it.

I FaceTime home all the time. Most times it works, often it freezes but still a good way to communicate with home 😊

I haven’t used the ship’s WiFi for anything but web browsing, so I can’t speak to how well it would work for video calls. It looks like you would need the top-level package to handle video.

You should be able to use your phone while you are in port in the Bahamas, which will be a large chunk of the cruise. I am not sure whether Face Time would be usable with a Data plan or how much the cost would be. I use T-mobile, which gives me free data, but I haven’t used it for video.

I would check the cost of DCL internet versus AT&T’s cruise service if you want to do video calls at night.

I know everyone is different, but the first time we went away without our kids, I forgot we had kids.

I know I did an audio call when I got the basic wifi package, so you can at least do that...unless video is really important.
