First cruise and I'm disabled, use a scooter

I am finally taking the plunge and planning a Disney cruise, to the western Caribbean on the fantasy September 2017. My question is if a tender boat is used to shuttle guests to shore will I be able to roll aboard or will I be left on the ship. And if I am left on the ship would Disney do anything extra special, if not it's ok just trying to get an idea.

The tenders typically are not just "roll on". You usually need to be able to leave your chair, go down some stairs, and step over into the tender.

There's still stuff to do onboard, even on a port day. Not quite as much as a sea day, but plenty to do.

Keep in mind too that Cozumel, Falmouth, and CC all have docks so the only place you will have an issue is Grand Cayman. So assuming you are unable to go ashore on a tender you should only be affected there. As PrincessShmoo mentioned, they don't shut down the ship or anything so you will have plenty to do if you are unable to go ashore plus it won't be nearly as crowded as sea days.

My daughter cannot walk and uses her chair all the time. We have looked at the tender's and decided she was much safer on the ship. We always find plenty to do while the ship is in port and actually really enjoy it. There are several ports that don't require a tender and you can use the ramp. Have a great time!
