First Communion?

Going to our Nephews 1st Communion and my Husband is the Godfather. They are Catholic and I am sure have allllll the Gold Crosses etc etc that he will need! What else is appropriate?

Children's Bible, or a Rosary would be my first two suggestions. After that, maybe book that tells the story of Saints geared to children.

Check the phone book for your neighbourhood religious book store. They have lots of other gifty ideas. My son received a nice stand up poem for his dresser. The bible is a great idea if he doesn't already have one. A picture frame to put his first communion picture in is another idea. Failing that a little cash is always a popular gift.

I've done the 1st communion thing for my oldest and besides a big cross, cash was the most popular and appreciated gift. At 7 & 8, Precious moments and similiar items are pretty uncool.....or so I was told!
