Hi all,

I know I've got six weeks to go, but I do like to plan ahead! ;)

Can any of you very knowledgable (sp?) people out there tell me what the best - ish seats are on First Choice flights?

There's me, DH, DD, DS and ideally we'd like 2 seats behind 2 seats (window seats), I believe the planes are 2-3-2 - please correct me if I'm wrong.

Any ideas on seat numbers would be appreciated. :wave2:

We went in June and got 2 + 2 at check in. The seating is now so good I don't really think it matters which seat numbers you get.

The seating is 2-3-2 as you say.

Lynn,

FCA page on the fleet and the specs of the 767 havent been updated for the star class config, strange that!

Not sure of the exact seating numbers but it is a standard 33in Seat pitch with 7in widescreen ptv in cattle and 36in/9in ptv in premium.

We are looking at booking for next October and I am looking for a flight only through them as a start. It may not match our ideas of a flight only price though.

we have just arrived home first choice plane was fantastic, lovely comfy seats loads of leg room personal 7inch seat back tv 6 films plus simpsons, little britain, games lots of other stuff, nice meals, great staff, blanket, pillow, eye pads, toothbrush, hot fresh wipes brought round. The service and plane were great in fact we have booked first choice again next year

Terry and Sharon-o: That's great news! Thanks for that info.

Cochise: when I was first looking for prices earlier this year, First Choice flights only/flydrive were a very similar (high!) price to Virgin. I think we were lucky and found an online package price cheaper than the flights only. Dare I tell you - 2 weeks CBR, car, (no ins though, have Natwest annual) and flights - £1826. We added kids meals, seats together and night-before check-in at Manchester, but I still think we got a great deal. Friends have said its to do with filling up the plane on an unpopular day (Tues in Sept), but after we booked the prices have gone up by around £500. We originally wanted the Thurs before or after, but for the big price difference changed our day.

And I'm under 20 days now, so getting very excited!!

Cheers,
Lynn

Do First Choice fly to MCO or Sanford? And do they have a premium cabin available?

First Choice fly to Sanford. Flew Premium with them in May/June on their refurbished planes. 36" seat pitch and service to match/beat scheduled airlines.

Shame, we like to fly to MCO and 36" is quite poor for premium. Oh well, we'll have to continue to pay!

Sorry, Lynn, I can't help with seat suggestions, but at least with a 2-3-2 configuration you're likely to be allocated 2 x 2 by the windows rather than being spread across the centre.

We used to prefer MCO but would now opt for Sanford every time!

There's still no comparison on the shopping / eating choices (MCO wins hands down on sheer number of choices), but then neither is there any comparison in the time and hassle on landing (Sanford is much quicker in our experience). The trip from Sanford to our resort took less time than it would have taken us from MCO, even though it's a greater distance. We were straight through immigration, collected our luggage and hire car and were on the road in less time than it has taken just to get through MCO immigration control on some trips.

I appreciate there may be times when delays can throw a spanner in the works but, whereas a few years ago I would have dreaded being delayed for more than an hour or two in Sanford, now I wouldn't be any more dismayed than being stuck in MCO departures.

Virgin / BA premium prices aren't on the cards for us, so we'd be quite pleased to get 36" pitch! ;)

Star Class Regular/ Economy are 3-4-3

Star Class Premier are 2-3-2
We upgraded and got there early and had seats 1c,1d,1e which are the middle seats at the front of the plane , lots of leg room.Advice Get there asap and you should get the seats you want, there is lots to keep you entertained on the plane our screens were 9 inches and also had free games to play on them, lots of film and tv choices too meals were fab, cabin crew excellent definately use them again. The premier customers also have a luggage allowance of 30kgs each if you like to shop it could be useful to take an extra case perhaps.BTW these seats are also close to the food prep area, and the loo, always handy on long trips!!

We had those seats when we flew out in July, they were great!

I know the extra leg room is definately worth it! I hate being cooped up for 8 hours but this made the journey a doddle!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
