Let me first say I was a wreck leading up to this because of all the negative comments I hear about BLT, and I just bought in April and who knew if I did the right thing??:rolleyes1
Well, I had a 1BR STD VIEW - 7512. I will ask for this room again and again. Direct view of SM and the Castle just to the left. Great view of Fireworks from the living room! As for the room, NOTHING was wrong. The thermostat worked great, the (master) shower was perfect, the furniture showed no signs of wear yet. Towels showed up on day 4, the trash room was NOT locked! Were given 4 packets of diswasher stuff, not 2. Found extra paper towels and trash bags. It was an awesome room. So the bathroom doors don't lock!! Stop whining about it guys. They don't lock in the CR either.

We did online check in....I will never NOT do this again..it's perfect. They could even put my UT discount park tickets on our KTWs!:woohoo:

We wanted extra pillows for the pull outs...got them in 30 minutes!

Only 2 negatives, and they 're minor.....1) the guest shower is too strong for kids and 2) the seams on the Bay Cove pool water slide need to be shaved down.

The community Hall room is awesome...free video games and unlimited free DVD rentals. I never got the TOW lounge so I can't comment. I don't like how they regulate you going up there....the card slot in the elevator should be enough...but that doesn't work.

the new bridge to CR is open and perfect. Not slippery at all. You can even get Dominoes pizza to deliver to BLT in about 15 minutes!!

It was everything I hoped it was. We even get a welcome pkg from MS...a beautiful Mickey beach bag filled with (stale) snacks, fruit and water. very very nice. Even the groceries we ordered ahead of time came right on time.

Bottom line, I will buy more BLT points as soon as I am able.:dance3:

Glad you had a great time. We are headed to BLT for our 1st stay in October and are extremely excited

Thanks for the thorough review. Sounds like a great experience at BLT was had by all! :goodvibes

I am sooo glad you posted. We will be arriving in just 44 day for out big family get together at BLT. It will be our second stay and our families first so we want all to be just perfect. I also have been reading about all the negative reports and have called MS twice on these to get their read. Glad you had a great time. Where did you get the number for Dominios? Out of the phone book or did they have a brocedure in the room??..smjj

Looking at your countdown timers, looks like our trips will overlap a few days. We are there Oct. 16 - 22 staying in a grand villa, bay lake view. It is a family trip with our kids and their kids(10 of us in all)...smjj

So glad you had such a wonderful time and thank you for posting about the positives... it's worrisome when all you read is negatives. We are staying there in February and I can not wait!

We love blt and have stayed 5 times and have never had any complaints than a few pieces of worn furniture, for me the negative threads are welcome because the more people who dont wanna stay there the more availability.

. . . . . . Only 2 negatives, and they 're minor.....1) the guest shower is too strong for kids . . . ..

Oh, I'm so sorry that you didn't hear that you can adjust the water pressure on the second shower. After you turn the shower on, turn the level back towards off until you get the pressure you want. When we stayed at BLT in a studio in March I tried it and I was surprised that this lever works in this manner and it did not reduce the shower to a trickle. I think they need to add a plaque explaining how to use the lever. Or did you already do this action with the lever?

I would report to member satisfaction about the pool slide and the lever, it sounds painful. The email is: dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com.

I too am glad to hear someone loved BLT. We really like the resort. It sounds like you had a better view of MK than we did in our MK view studio.

the front desk in BLT gave me Pizza Hut as they are closer but when i called, they said they wouldn't come. then i used my smartphone to find dominos and it came right up.

Great info, we will do out first DVC trip to our home of BLT In March 2011!

Was is the common hall area you referred to with movies and video games?

Glad you had a good time. We will also have a 1 BR.

I cannot wait to stay here!! This has always been my favorite resort (even though only got to stay at CR once) and once I heard about BLT back in 2006 I knew this was a place we wanted to own.

Our next trips are already scheduled through 2011, so hopefully in 2012 we get to venture home to BLT. We have AKV and BWV on deck until then. Really really want to go home to BLT though...

So glad to here more positive reviews.

we read many negatives about blt too but this was a wonderful vacation for our family. blt is very special, the cms were great. the only thing i can encourage is for anyone on the board to not feel anxious by the negative postings they find on the discussion boards, go and see for yourself. i would love to go back to blt anytime, it was a fun experience and again the cms were wonderful to us. princess:

It is on the first floor near the back exit to the pool area, right off the front lobby to the right...smjj

Thank you for the positive review and reassuring us that BLT is as magical as we think it is. Our first stay "home" is next May.

We will be spending a very small part of our next trip at BLT. It's nice to read some positive feedback. Thanks for posting!

Just off the lobby is a room community Hall, staffed by young CMs. It's open from morning to midnight and inside, there is a foosball table, tables for arts and crafts, a big screen TV with a Wii, and about 5 PS3 set ups with every game you can imagine preloaded...I doubt the games include any M rated ones, but certainly up to T. Kids under 12 have to have an adult with them. There's also a daily schedule of special events they do, mostly different crafts the kids can take part in. At the desk there is a book with about 100 DVD titles. you just pick one, sign it out and bring it back when you want....NO COST.

thanks for the review :) Getting more and more excited for my first trip "home" 89 days and counting!

I don't think most (if any) of the postings said BLT was bad or that we shouldn't be there. Instead, I take them as a list of things to be mindful of before visiting, so we aren't surprised and are aware of some quick fixes that may be used to mitigate any common ssues encountered.

If these posts cause consternation for some, then I want to make them aware that BLT is an excellent resort and you will enjoy your stay there. However, reading these boards make you more aware and ready to handle many issues that others have experienced.

That is so funny you say that. We were there two weeks ago and my DH tried explaining the shower being too strong and they thought he was crazy!

My boys also felt the water slide hurt their backs if they tried to lay back, but they still loved it. I absolutely loved the pool area. It was so beautiful.
