DS 1 year old!
Well, it's 1:15 am, my son's birthday is over by just over an hour and he wakes up sick in his crib!!! I now know that it wasn't the cheese soup that made me sick the other day! He continues to be sick all night. I get in the other bed with him. We call housekeeping for more towels and clean crib sheets. They are great, although it's the middle of the night, we explain that our son is sick and they are there within 10 minutes. The baby sleeps on/off through the night. In the morning I call his pediatrician. We confirm that he probably has what I had and give him a bit of water. Once that stayed down, we give him pedialyte. We called room service for breakfast, since we knew we couldn't take him out. They were helpful enough to pick up the pedialyte from the resort store and bring it with our breakfast. We were so glad that we were staying at a resort with room service. It definitely came in handy during this trip with first me getting sick and now our son. He took a 3 hour morning nap and when he woke up, he was smiling and wanting to crawl all around the room. I give him more water/pedialyte and he naps again. Our doctor calls back to check on him and says that as long as he is not vomiting, we should get out of the room for some fresh air. It'll do him good. We go to sit in the shade at Hurricane Hannah's. DH and I order some lunch and a drink. The baby enjoys watching the ducks hiding in the shrubs. I called mousekeeping before we left and explained that now our son was sick and if they could clean the room while we were out for a bit.
We return to the room and the baby naps again. When he wakes up, he's almost back to his old self. We decide to just hang out at the resort and we eat outside of Beaches - n-Cream. I give the baby a few crackers with water and he really wants our food too! I hold off though until the next morning. We stroll around the resort and even hit the beach club gift shop. Then, we decide to call it an early night. Hopefully, the baby will feel better in the morning.
