me 32 year old Disney fan
DH 34 year old Disney enabler
DS turns one tomorrow!!

We awake around 7:30 and I'm feeling great! It must have been food poisoning. At least it only lasted 24 hours! We decide to follow our plans for Friday, although I know it Saturday and we should stay away from the MK. But, I've been here for 3 days already and I need to see the Castle! Also, my son needs his first haircut and I don't want to wait until his birthday tomorrow to get it. So, we decide to catch the bus for the MK. Once we figured out how to manuver the baby, diaper bag, camera bag and stroller all on the bus, we quickly become experts.

Nothing is like walking down Main Street and seeing the castle for the first time of each trip. But, we're a day off so I'm on a mission. First stop, Barber shop! A cm is getting his hair cut and a 12 year old. We're next and we didn't wait more than 5 minutes. Mike cut my DH's hair on our trip back in '99 and he cut DS's hair for the first time. I highly recommend anyone going to Disney to get baby's first haircut there. It was very special! Mike gave the baby about 30 stickers on his arms and legs and the baby just pulled them off and looked at them while he got his hair cut. When the other cm finished her client, she blew bubbles at the baby to keep him occupied. The haircut turned out great! We got a certificate with the baby's name on it, Mickey ears that say "First haircut", the baby's hair in tissue paper and priceless photos and video of the entire event. Cost of haircut $12, before a nice tip, cost of getting baby's first haircut at Disney World, priceless.

Mission 1 complete. Now, we head to the castle. But, first we get in a very long line at the bakery for breakfast. I know, I know, we should have eaten before we got to the park, plus it's Saturday at the MK, but we're hungry! After 35 minutes, we're eating and sipping coffee and enjoying the morning at the MK. We see the first show in front of the Castle, then continue to Frontierland. I want to get a silhouette of the baby. We stop in the kitchen store to look for a Mickey head bottle opener my sister asked me to look for. We grab one for her and one for us too! It's very cute! We find the silhouette stand and get the baby's profile done. It came out great! Mission 2 complete!! There's no line at IASW, so we get right on. It's DS's first official Disney World ride! He loves it. He bounces up and down the entire ride. I never saw his pacifier being sucked so fast!!! He was taking it all in!

Now, we head to get a fastpass for Buzz and make our second mistake of the trip, MK on Sat., being the first. We get in the 40 minute line for Pooh!!! I know, better than this, but it's too late! Fastpass on Pooh killed us! Stand-by line took 1 hour 15 minutes!!!! But, all is forgotten as DS laughs and squeals on the ride. He actually screamed and grabbed the bar of the ride when we had to get off. But, we had FP for Buzz, so off we go. We get right into Buzz and have a great ride to "Infinity and Beyond!" DH scores 368,000 plus points, I score 1,200, but I had to stop shooting so I could hold onto the baby. He wanted to jump into the ride itself! Once again, he cries when we have to get off.

By now it's almost lunchtime and it's getting hot and I know what Saturday at the park will be like all day. We head to the Baby Care Station next to the Crystal Palace. All I can say is that this place is wonderful! Very clean, large diaper changing stations, high chairs, toys, private nursing area and microwave and sink to clean up. A CM works in there in case you need assistance or to purchase baby items. We feed and change the baby and decide to head to Downtown Disney to shop. The baby falls asleep in the stroller and stays asleep on the bus and back into the stroller. DH and I shop at the Disney at Home store and World of Disney. We spend way to much. DS wakes up while we're in the Team Mickey store. DH decides he needs a pair of Nikes for the trip. I told him to buy them before the trip, but he insisted that he didn't need sneakers. We only paid about $20 more for the sneakers at Disney than I had seen at the mall back home. Not too bad. We have everything shipped to resort so we don't have anything to carry. We hit RFC for a late lunch. We're safari club members, so the wait was only 10 minutes if that. I went to change the baby again, but, by the time I came out, DH was being seated. We had a nice, refreshing lunch. The baby smiled at everyone around us and tried to get them to play the pick up whatever I drop fifty times game.

After lunch, we return to the YC and change and swim. We put the baby down for a late nap. He sleeps from 5 pm until 7:30. When he wakes up, we walk over to the Boardwalk to check it out. We put our name in at Spoodles. They say 35 minutes, but our pager goes off in 20 minutes. Loved the restaurant and the food was good. While strolling back to the YC, we watch some fireworks from Illuminations. Another perfect day at Disney!!!! Tomorrow, the birthday boy turns one!!!!!

Can't wait to read more!!!! Your DS is lucky!!!
I was way too nervous as a new mother and he was a fussy baby! I should have taken him, but we decided to wait until he was older - and we live only 3 hrs from WDW!!!!

Sounds like a great day!! How special that you were able to get your DS's first haircut in WDW. :) Looking forward to reading more...
