I am trying to take my first stab at a basic itinerary for our trip. This trip will be December 6-13th and we hope to stay at the Polynesian. This will be the 5th trip for DH and I but the first trip for our then 18-month old son. We want to take it pretty easy so that none of us get too exhausted. DS's normal schedule at home is to be up by 6 AM and in bed no later than 7:30 so we will be early risers and early to bed.

Saturday, December 6th

Fly into Orlando :)
Check-in
Relax at the resort/pool(weather permitting)
Dinner at Chef Mickey's

Sunday, December 7th

MK morning
lunch at Cosmic Rays
nap
Epcot early evening
counter service dinner in Epcot

Monday, December 8th

AK morning
lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
nap
pool time (weather permitting)
dinner at 'Ohanas

Tuesday, December 9th

Epcot morning
lunch at Garden Grill
nap
MK for the afternoon parade
counter service dinner at MK or back at resort

Wednesday, December 10th

MGM morning
counter service lunch at MGM
nap
pool time (weather permitting)
dinner at Kona Cafe
maybe Illuminations this evening (I love this show and can't imagine missing it on any trip but don't know if DS will cooperate)

Thursday, December 11th

AK or MGM morning (depending on which DS liked better)
lunch at Rainforest Cafe (if AK) or counter service at MGM
nap
AK for the afternoon parade
dinner at Rainforest Cafe (if didn't eat there for lunch) or at the resort

Friday, December 12th

MK morning
counter service lunch at MK
nap
pool time (weather permitting)
dinner?

Satuday, December 13th

Hope to have an early flight back home :(

Any comments and/or suggestions are appreciated!!! Thanks!

Your itinerary looks good, but you may want to consider doing MGM in the afternoon/evening. We have found that it is the least crowded after about 2 PM. Have fun and happy planning!!

Another thing, Flame Tree BBQ is only open seasonally. It probably won't be open when you are there........sorry. As an alternative I would choose the Tusker House

Would this also be true for just the shows? DH and I usually hit MGM first thing in the morning to ride RNRC and TOT, play Millionaire, etc. but this trip we are going to hit the shows for DS first and then if we have time hit the big rides with baby swap. We are most interested in the Playhouse Disney and Little Mermaid shows and probably B&B. I thought maybe the shows would be harder to hit in the afternoon if everyone spent all morning going on the rides.

Also, thanks for the tip about Flame Tree. I always hear how wonderful it is and in 4 trips we have never been there. We are doing more counter service this trip and I was hoping that we would finally have our chance. I guess we will just hope for the best and if it is not open we will try something else.

Thanks for the suggestions!!! :)

Sounds like a good plan.
One thing we noticed when DS was 15 months was he would sleep in the stroller whenever he needed too. We didnt really need to plan a nap for him(DS was never the sleep on demand type anyway). This was good in that it allowed us some later nights. He would fall asleep in the evening, nap for an hour or so, and then be awake, later into the night.
You should be fine in seeing Illuminations and maybe you can even add a little park time at night if all goes well.
