Checking back in after the 5K last Saturday. I screwed up timing myself, and wanted to wait for the official results to be posted.
There were around 22 runners in the 5K, so a very small race. I finished in 28:35.19 according to the race timers, and was very glad to make it in under 30 minutes.
As a way to unwind after all the pressure I put on myself, I went out for a run on Tuesday night, didn't pay attention to the time or, really, how far I ran; I just ran until it got too dark to see the sidewalk. It was a useful exercise in just enjoying the experience instead of using the run to rate myself. Kind of like enjoying the journey instead of just focusing on the destination.
Thanks for all the words of advice and encouragement.
