First 2 weekends in Dec. How busy?

DW and I were thinking about taking long weekend trip next year to enjoy the holiday decorations without all of the chaos (hopefully). The point values for those two weekends are very low and tell me two things. First it is a relatively slow time at WDW, and second it might be a busy time for DVC. So my question is this, is it slow(er) crowd wise, and how difficult would it be to get a resort at the seven month window? TIA

The first 2 weeks of December are one of the busiest times from a DVC perspective. I would book your home resort at the 11-month window. You could then call back at the 7-month window and see if you can book another resort.

Weekends in December are crowded with local people who enjoy the holiday decorations. We've experienced large crowds at Osborne lights for instance over the weekend one year, and then relatively no crowds on Monday/Tuesday.
