Firm Thread May 1-31st

Kim, isn't it really great!! I know what yo mean about Cathe. I have only done her once since I got the new Firm series. I love Cathe, but boy can she do a number on ya. Sometimes by the time I finish I just wnat to pass out!!! I'm taking Cathe break for the time being. I'll do the whole month rotation and then I'll get back to Cathe. I might throw Cathe in on a rest day, but we'll have to see. I'm loving the new series. Especially all the Jiggle free's . I think they are all my favorites.

Melanie, wtg. I noticed that yesterday wehn I was doing Allies tape, I didn't switch and was using my 15 pound weights for all of my upper body work as well. Actually, i think the only other pound weights I used was the 5's! Your upper body will thank you for allt he extra hard work you are putting into it. BTW, to add a little more intensity, on Stephanie's UCB, I have been using my 8 pound weights for the tall box climb and boy do you feel the burn.
 
Good afternoon Firmies!!

Yesterday was a rest day. Today was Ultimate Calorie Blaster and Express Cardio. Whew!

Whine Alert! I feel like I'm actually losing strength. I was using 12 lbs. for bicep curls and overhead presses, thinking I'd be ready to move up to 15 lbs. soon. In the last week or so, the 12's feel really hard and some days I can only do 10 lbs. Same with leg presses; I was really comfortable with 15 lbs. and now I'm struggling to finish a set with 15 lbs. and losing my form toward the end. What the heck is going on? This is very frustrating! Ok, whine over for now.

Reintroducing myself: I started Firming in April of last year. Being 47 years old, I was concerned about loss of muscle strength and bone density. I also wanted to lose a few pounds. Prior to Firming, I had been running 3 times a week, so I did have some cardio conditioning when I started. I started with BSS2 and have slowly added to my video collection over the last year. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the Firm. It works for me, so I'm sticking with it.
 
Norma are you taking any rest days? I know I hate to but I have to admit it does help. My sister is in Monmouth Oregon, where are you?
 

Kim :banana: I'm a glutton for punishment!!! Don't tell anyone, but I actually think kicking it up like that is fun! :rolleyes1 I can't wait till I can do it with 10 pound weights!

Norma, I think you need to take it easy. If you over train, you might hurt yourself. If you haven't taken a rest day, listen to s&k'smom, it really does help. I know that probably sounds dumb coming from me, but I have to force myself to slow down and take one.
 
Morning, did the Christa tape from BSS3. Not one of my favorites I think because she and Pam are so skinny is rather distracting and I hate that box so I use the transfirmer. I definately like series 4 much better than 3 but I'll keep at them!!
 
Supercharged Sculpting and Jiggle Free Abs for me today.

I'm feeling more positive today. I actually do have rest days. Right now I'm only doing 3 or 4 days exercising, then a rest day. So I'm not even going 6 or 7 days in a row like I was before. I've concluded that it really doesn't matter what the number on the dumbbell says as long as I'm working my muscles hard. And that this small setback might be due to this incredibly long PMS I'm going through right now. I'll just keep at it and see if things go back to normal next week.

s&k'smom, I live in Beaverton, OR., a suburb of Portland. DH works for a large athletic footwear and apparel company headquartered here. They have 2 fitness facilities, which I haven't joined because I actually prefer working out at home. During May, they are allowing family members to use the fitness facilities for free on Fridays. I thought about going to a class there today, but I chose to FIRM instead.

Today was supercharged sculpting for me as well along with the stretch. I used my 15 pound weights for just about everything!!!! My shoulders are really feeling it, but that is one area I'm trying to build.

This am ended up being a rest day as I had been getting up a little too early this week and it caught up with me last night. I figured it wasn't a good thing making coffee for the third time that day. But my new taebo arrived so I'll do that tomorrow and Stephanie's BSS3 tape Monday. Yeah I'm that anal I plan all this ahead of time!

I did Stephanie's UCB with Cathe's CoreMax as an add-on this morning! I am really loving UCB as is my dh. I was wondering why he was lingering around behind me as I began working out, and then I remembered telling him all about the.....ummmmmmm....adult nature of this video! I went on a 4 mile run with DH today. He never complains about my 10-minute per mile pace (acutally, today it was 9:45 per mile), even though it's slower than he usually runs.

I don't know yet whether tomorrow will be a rest day or a Firm day.

Good morning firmies, today was an advanced taebo workout. What made me think I could keep up, dunno but I did get a great sweat. Which I needed after dinner last night, let's just say it involved cream for pasta, whipped cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce. What the heck it's mother's day and sharing that sundae with DD was a blast. Reminded me when we ran off on DH and DS at typhoon lagoon last November and shared an ice cream on a hot Nov day.
 
Hi. I started doing the Firm again. I have two children and I used the Firm after I had my first and it worked so well! Then I got pregnant again. Now my 2nd is 10 months old and I've been on WW and Jenny Craig (on and off) over the past 6 months. I've lost a little weight, but my overall shape is just plain flabby! So I broke out the Firm. I've done 3 Firm workouts in the past week, and I've alternated those with some basic cardio tapes. I can't tell how much better I feel after I do the Firm! I plan to Firm 4 days a week. I have the original tapes and the ones with the sculpting stick. I like the sculpting stick, but I also want to get the newest one with the incline bench. Which ones do you use? I really like Ali - she's really motivating!

Anyway, I'm hoping to stick to it so I am in better shape for my Disney trip in July. And also to lose all this baby weight.

BTW, are any of you members of the Firm believers club? Is it worth it to join? Thanks!

Hello everyone. Yesterday was a rest day as per the firm schedule.

Today was Aerobic Body Shaping with Allie. So, since it was mother's day, I decided to do something for me. I bumbed up the intensity. I did leg press with 20 pound weights!!!! Shoulder work with 15's, squats with 20's, dips with 15, chest work with both 15 and 20, tall box climb with 8's. I'm trying to get rid of using my 5 pound weights as my lightest dumbells. It really made a difference in the workout.

Scanne, welcome. Of course you can join. We enjoy having new people. I am a member of the firm believers club and I love the support you get. I also love interacting with those advanced firmies so that I can get ideas on how to keep my workouts up. It all depends on what you need from the site.

Good morning firmies. Awesome job sheree, 20lbs that is amazing.

Today I did another Taebo tape so tomorrow it will be BSS3 the Stephanie tape. I'm trying to remember to keep up the cardio and not just do muscle building tapes. I think I'll take a trip to Walmart and see if any new tapes have come out.

Hi norma! A big WOO HOO on your four mile run! I tried to get dh to go on a run with me this Saturday, but he said that if he'd run he 'wouldn't be able to enjoy the scenery.' Translation: He's too macho to admit he's afraid I could outrun him. :p

Hi s&k'smom! QVC has Tae Bo Bootcamp (I think it's something like 4-5 vids plus bands) for @ $40-42 with shipping included. I really want to get it, but I'm also trying to save up for a tattoo! Ahhhh...decisions, decisions: more workout tapes or bodily mutilation... :teeth:

I did Allie's ABS & JFA this morning. My new catch phrase is now, 'This is a NO.' I swear, I'd buy a tape of that woman brushing her teeth... :love:

I've always had a butt, now it's just getting firmer and higher. My cousin said that all I will be soon is butt and ****s!! That's what I get for having genetics :teeth:


I did Jiggle free abs this morning, the 10 minute lower body add on and express cardio. On express cardio I used 8 pound weights. Boy and I really beginning to feel the difference!!! My shoulders hurt like heck.

S&K's mom, I just ordered the new Taebo series. I can't wait for it to get here. That's why this morning I added in some more cardio even though the rotation calender didn't call for it.

You guys are a bad influence now I'm gonna have to go taebo hunting. I know I've said this before but for me it is a really good compliment to my firm tapes. But I better stick to Walmart if my DH sees me with the credit card again.

I'm feeling so upbeat and positive today. TOM arrived yesterday, but that means my strength and energy are back. :Pinkbounc I did Aerobic Body Shaping with Allie this morning. I was back to using my normal weights, except I still struggled a little with the 15 lbs. on the last few leg presses.

scanne, welcome!! :wave: I would definitely recommend the new Firm system with the incline. There are some new moves and the workouts are fun.

s&k's mom, every time you mention a taebo workout, I get the itch to buy Taebo Boot Camp. But I'm trying to resist because last month I bought BSS4 and 5 DVD's from BSS3.

sheree', girl, you are an exercise machine!!! You just keep on upping those weights and pumping out those workouts. Way to go!:banana:

kim, I'm with you on the Spongebob Square Butt. I've always had a flat tush. That's one area that Firming doesn't seem to help me. The only times my butt looked decent was when I was training for a marathon. But who wants to run 35 - 40 miles a week just to have a rounder behind? Not me, no thanks. :sad2:

s&k's mom and norma, I know what you mean about ordering more workout tapes, but I so love Taebo. So at collage I ordered the deluxe series :rolleyes1 $79.99. I haven't told DH yet. I did say that I ordered the kids taebo (everytime I workout with him they tell me mom he's tough, doesn't he do something easier for kids?) So when it comes, I'll just slyly put it on and be like look what came in the mail :teeth:
