Firm Check-in April 1st to April 30

Hi FIRMies!

Today was Super Body Sculpt with my new 15 pound weights! I am sore already! (Of course that could be from cleaning my garage out for 3 hours straight! :earseek: )

Sheree~ The Cathe workout I have is an advanced one I think. It's a great workout! You do a few minutes of cardio burst followed by tough weights. There are 5 cycles in all, but you can mix everything up on this DVD. I'll probably do it again later on this week. :Pinkbounc

Good morning, got in MCB with Allie the whole thing!!! I feel very accomplished. I too am waiting for my new tapes but I only ordered them last week but of course very impatient. I think this is gonna be it for a while, gotta lay off the credit card.
 
Hi everyone,

I did some of Janet Bates Planks Circuit last night. Wow- I was feeling them in my abs big time. I'm going to add it 4-6 times a week. I hear it's great for getting good defination in the abs.

Tonight I'll hop on the TM for about 30 minutes, and possibly do a shorter sculpting tape like Super Body sculpt. I don't suppose I'd be lucky enough to get my BSS4. If I did I'd probably do the shorter 35 min sculpting tape.

Tracy- I just bought 15lb weights as well as 1 20lb weight (20lb for Lat rows). I've been doing some bicep curls with it, but haven't really used them in a video yet. I will wait till next week to even attempt it.
 
My BSS4 is in!! I'm so excited. Hmm, now what should I do tonight. I should do the TM for 30 minutes. I'll probably do the Sculpt, or maybe Jiggle free arms.

Today I did Ultimate Calorie blaster with stephanie. Boy it does something to ya when you intensify the whole video. I read some tips on firmdirect about upping the intensity for those advanced and boy did it work. I then followed it with a 30 minute walk with my family. My legs are feeling it!!! But as Cathe would say, its a good burn.

Melanie, I know you are excited!!!! Let us know how you liked it. I'm loving my new step. They should have thought about this one a long, long, long time ago.
 
Good morning, nothing today as DS was restless and I think DD is sick so off to the docs plus I gotta try and work today for a bit. I'm trying to appreciate rest days when they come.
 
OK - 1 WORD!!! DABOMB!!! or is it two????

It was like Christmas. I had also ordered Express Cardio and Advance Cardio Express. I got a total of 8 new video's woo hoo!!

The TransFIRMer is awesome. Its so stable, and I love how the incline fits into the box. That puppy isn't moving. I never used the old box once I flipped it and just recently got a replacement that was a lot better but still wobbly. This is so much better in every respect. I can't wait to rediscover BSS3. I just LOVE the new video's too! I watched several and did some of the cardio in a few as well as Jiggle Free Arms.

First I watched Pam's Supercharged Sculpting. At first I thought, wow is that all the lower body. What no Leg presses?? How wimpy, but good if you don't feel like doing them. Then she did upper body and abs and I thought it was over. NOPE, she went back and did leg presses and tall box climbs. I didn't do any of this video but for a short 35 minute total body sculpting video- WOW. The moves are different and look very effective. She did some squats with raises in the legs. I really can't wait to try this one out!!! I'd probably pair it with a 30 minute cardio to get a nice long workout.

Next I watched the 8 minute stretch add on by Pam on Supercharged Sculpting. WOW- The music is awesome! Very relaxing and its Yoga stretches. This is great if you just need a nice stretch after doing the TM or something that is not a video. I'm really excited about this one!

Then I watched Jiggle Free Buns with Pam. I was anticipating this one because of the Hot Crossed Buns that I've read so much about on the FIRM Direct Website. I went downstairs and set up my TransFIRMer and did the hot crossed buns over and over till I could pretty much say I have it down. Its still going to take a while because your not used to leading with your outside leg on an angle. I got a pretty good workout just from doing Hot Crossed Buns over and over. Unfortunately that's all I remember from the workout.

Then I put Allie's workout in! I was excited to try it and I had all plans to do it until I remember I really didn't want to do lower body this week because of the race. So I just watched it. It so reminded me of MCB plus abs! Just the phrases she uses and the music! It really brought me back! This looks like so much fun. I can't wait to do it.


Then I watched the 8 min bonus lower body with Allie- I had read on the FIRM Direct BB that this is a great add on each day you work out for focused lower body work without weights (which is why I think you can do it everyday). I did half of it until she flipped the incline to the other side. I didn't have my room set up to have enough room so I just finished watching her. GREAT ADD ON!!

Next I did Jiggle Free Arms - I just watched the cardio portions, and did the weight work. Tough Arm work! WOW! The sequencing is tough. My arms were dying by the second exercise. That exercise seemed new. I need to watch it again to see what it was because I had forgot what made my arms so tired by the end. I just remember telling DH that it was a muscle I'm not used to working so it really fatigued my arms with heavy weights. I got a good workout even without doing the cardio portions.


I can't wait to get to really do these video's and not just play with them.

You guys are killing me!!! I'm trying to be good I really am. - - MUST RESIST FIRM 4. I can hear DH telling me to keep repeating that over and over! Ha!

My Firm enabling friend at work is ordering Firm 4 even though she's 4 months pregnant. I just looked at her funny. I asked her what she planned on doing with Firm 4 in her condition. She innocently said that when it arrives, she will let me "see" it. I told her no. She has let me borrow her Firm 3 and her sculpting stick plus several add on Firm videos. She just winked at me when I said no and said she'd let me know when she got it so "someone" could try it out. Between her and you guys, I'll be a size 2 or 4 before this is all said and done!

Yesterday I took a much needed rest day and this morning I did an oldie but a goodie - BSS1 body sculpt with Jen. I did the entire 47 minutes and boy was that a good work out using 5, 8 and 10 pound weights. I did wimp out toward the end of upper body and used my 3 pound weights because my muscles were screaming! It was fun though. I remember when I felt Jen was going to kill me but I was able to get through with just a good sweat this time and not feel overly tired. I think my Cathe work outs help the Firm seem not as tough as it used to be. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see 4.

You guys like my new clippie? I finally lost another 5 pounds and can claim the 105 pound clippie!!!! Woohoo!!! Now I've got 18.5 pounds til goal!

Melanie - you are a bad bad girl to try to influence me this way! I am really interested in that jiggle free arms work out though. I think my bat wings could set me in flight if the wind was strong enough.

Hi to Sheree, norma, Kim and s&k'smom. I'll try to check in more regularly with you all. The other Firm support site I usually post to has grown so big that by 10:00 in the morning there might be 20 or 30 posts and I just can't keep up with them like I used to. Have a great Firmin' day ladies and please know that each of you inspires me!

Can anyone who has BSS4 compare the w/o's to BSS1, 2 or 3 in terms of intensity? I may just get TransFIRMerized for Mother's Day!!! :hyper:

I just got WHFN's Steamin' Cardio and Push Pull (and thinking of getting the whole Kickbutt set) and would label them intermediate. A weird but kinda fun intermediate. I think. They're hard to describe. :scratchin I'd love if BSS4 were intermediate to high intermediate, or easily modify-able high or low like CAWT. And speaking of Allie--I accidentally gave away my Cardio Sculpt!!! Oh, the humanity! :sad:
 
I say it's a lot like Bss2. It really is simple moves like BSS2 with mixes of 3 because of the incline. It depends on how long you've been working out. Like I said for me I have to bump it up on the cardio plus the cardio sculpt workouts. The sculpt workouts are great, especially pam's and let's not mention Allies ab workout!!!I compare it alot to BSS2. I think you would really enjoy the new series and the box alone in my opinion makes it all worth it.

Good morning was just getting into body sculpt blaster when DD woke up. Poor little thing got sick everywhere. Hopefully will get something in tomorrow.
 
Good morning everyone,

Well last night I just played. I so wanted to "get down with the TransFIRMer" but knew I needed to go light this week.

Actually I should be on the TM but I haven't been able too (I blame it on the new FIRM tapes). Maybe tonight.

So last night I practiced Hot Cross Buns from Jiggle free Buns. I did some of Ultimate Calorie Blaster. It was fun, but dang Stephanie..........what's with all the TALL BOX CLIMBS! I can't wait to try the vertical Tall box climbs. I just watched them last night. Its a light 4 limb with light weights climbing the box and there is some sort of foot drag thing...........YIKES.

I also watched the 8 min ab bonus. 3 minutes into I was tired just watching Allison. Its a killer workout with a warmup and all! Great if you just want to do abs on a rest day.

As far as how these compare to the other BSS's. I haven't done them entirely from start to finish so I can't totally compare, but they remind me a lot of BSS2 with some BSS3 mixed in (here and there). I look forward to being able to give these tapes my all. Allies tape total reminds me of BSS2 but instead of all cardio its a AWT.

And I agree with Sheree...........the TransFIRMer is the best part of all. Not having to waste all my energy trying to get the box legs up and down, not having to worrying about flipping my box if I step on the edge during incline, not having to worry about doing squats with weights across my tall box is just amazing. The confidence in the box makes the moves even more powerful. I'm looking forward to trying it out with all my firm tapes.
 
I did a whopper of a workout today!!! I did a 45 minute lower body workout with Cathe, jiggle free arms and abs. Boy is my body feeling it right now. I decided to isolate all my muscles.

Lisa I'm sorry I forgot to congratulate you on your new clippie. My God 105 that is absolutely awesome! I'm really proud of you.

Zera I feel your pain, resisted for about two seconds and yeah waiting waiting for BSS4.

Did the lower body workout with libby today as I was gonna do Susan Harris' old firm tape but I've got a bad cold and knew it would kill me. The Susan tape is great if your doing the oprah bootcamp as it is a killer. As for the Libby tape I know it's older but I used the 8lb weights throughout and could really feel the difference with the increased poundage. There is something nice about her so I feel like I got a good lower body workout but not enough to kill me with this cold.

First I want to thank Kim for letting us know when the new infomerical will be on the tv. I'll have DH tape Saturday's program at 9:00 on Lifetime. I'm so excited to view it! My Firm enabling friend at work is pretty sure she's going to get it and I asked her to let me use the jiggle free arms work out. I'm assuming I won't need the new box for that. I'm sure I'll want the whole system when I watch the infomercial!

I took a rest day yesterday and tried to make up for it this morning with Cathe's body fusion work out using heavier weights. It's a nice 50+ minute work out and I don't always have the luxury to do longer work outs like this one in the morning (DS is out of school today) so this was a great work out this morning!

Sheree - thanks for the encouragement! I appreciate it! You know how much I love reading about the intensity of your work outs. You really make me push myself out of my comfort zone. I still haven't done any of the other work outs on the tapes you've sent me but boot camp which I love. I do have Power Hour on tap to try real soon though.

s&k'smom - thanks to you too for the encouragement. I'm getting closer and closer to goal which is exciting. I never thought I'd reach this point and knowing I could stop here and be okay is tempting but I'm going to push it these last few pounds to goal!

Today was Total Sculpt + Abs with my 15 pound weights! Whew! Triceps and biceps proved to be tough; chest too. I have a feelin' I'll be sore tomorrow. :teeth: That's okay: means my muscles are waking up!
