Firm Check-in April 1st to April 30

I previewed Allies workout last night again to see what upper body moves she did. I did a little of the beginning of it and did a little of Jiggle free arms.

I have a follow up appointment for my feet on Monday May 9th. I feel it was so wrong of the nurse to not give me any guidance and just say the x-ray was fine. Well hello, what should I be doing, what could it have been when can and should I start working out again. I think they totally dropped the ball and a normal person who just listened to what they say as gospel would just jump right back into exercise. I at least want to know what they think was wrong with my feet and how long I should let it heal. At this point, I'm just guessing and I'm scared to try things (rightfully so) but yet afraid that if it isn't nothing Í'm just loosing strength and stamina and will have to start all over.

Kim- I'm glad you got your workouts. I'm still waiting to be able to "really"do them. What I have done and see I like. Especially the upper body. I álso can't wait to get into doing all the tall box climbs. There are a few tapes that have tons of cool looking tall box climbs..........did I just say that? I'm looking forward to tall box climbs?? Go figure.

Awwww, Mel, you're 100% correct! Hello--where's the help here?!!! How do you ease back into exercise without adding more injury to the mix? 'Dropped the ball' is right  and I completely understand your concern about losing your strength and cardio capacity. It's frustrating to feel like all the benefits of your hard work may be slipping away. I hope you get some answers soon!

Good morning all. I did jiggle free buns this morning.

I hope you all wonderful people have a great day!

This morning I did Aerobic Body Shaping with Allie. I used light weights because my body was telling me I really should rest, but of course I ignored the message. Although I am really liking the new BSS4, I have one complaint. They don't give intermediate/advanced exercisers time to change weights. For example, Allie says use heavy weights and starts with lower body work, then switches to upper body using the same weight. I don't know about anyone else, but "heavy" for me for squats and lunges is generally heavier than "heavy" for bicep curls or overhead presses. I think I'll end up pausing and rewinding quite a bit with some of these workouts.

Tomorrow is a rest day for sure.

Kim, I think you learned something I had to relearn earlier this week. Running somehow uses lower body muscles differently. It took me a couple of days to recover from the soreness. I definitely need to add running back into the mix more regularly. Do you, like me, find that a part of you actually enjoys the DOMS because you know you did something good for your body? Crazy, huh?

Hi FIRMies!

Well, I just got done previewing both Allie's and Stephanie's BSS4 workouts and I just can't wait to get started! Let me first say, however, that even though I had Stephanie's w/o playing, I did not actually notice any of the moves as I was too busy on my knees saying a prayer that her...ahem...enhancements...wouldn't come bounding out of her top and flying across the room!!! Holy moly--I couldn't take my eyes off of 'em!!! Let's just say that Stephanie doing calf pumps in that outfit has turned this dvd into one of the ummmmm...adult variety!!! I think I may have an audience in dh when I do this w/o! WHOA!!! :earseek: :teeth:

Everyone looked just lovely and my new upper body role model is Annie! She's got these killer broad shoulders on a lean (not tooth-picky) frame with gorgeous sculpted and well-defined muscles. Her abs are amazing, too. She's really cute.

Allison was doing the modifications, and what was really cool was that even though she was doing the beginner and low-impact moves, she was putting a lot of intensity into it. She really showed that low-impact does not have to equal low-intensity. I think she's a great inspiration for beginners.

Pam is just beautiful and is smiling throughout. I want to look like her when I grow up. :)

Now, Allie. Oh, we all know how I feel about her by now, and she gives me no pause to discontinue my Allie Obsession. She really has leaned out (on the YaYas I read she said she really hit the heavy weights and elliptical and ate clean) and her always gorgeous legs look even better--she is soooooooo toned and trim and healthy looking! She's on my schedule for tomorrow morning and I am really looking forward to it!

I stil have to preview Pam's sculpting and Allie's Ab dvds, but I'm already glad I bought BSS4. I really hope GT uses the TransFIRMer for it's future series--it's an investment in money and space and really seems like a sturdy and versatile piece of equipmtent. Just one complaint---GT PLEASE CHAPTER YOUR DVDS!!! (just a personal pet peeve)

I hope everyone's enjoying their workouts and if you're at all interested in BSS4, I hope you'll get a chance to try it! Just watch out for a whole lotta Flyin' Cleavage!!! :teeth:

***Edited to add: Norma, I feel exactly the way you do about running! I couldn't believe that with all the lower body work that I do, I could be sooooo sore! I'm feeling it in my hips, hip flexors, tibialis and everything in between. And yes, even though I'm in pain, it feels so good to know that I was really working my body differently than it's used to--I am such a believer in mixing it up. I need to add more running to my program now, as soon it will be too hot and humid in GA to exercise outside! I think we're having the exact same experience (we need to get together and have a race to see who can limp the fastest!)

Hope your days are wonderful, dear friends! :grouphug:

Kim must agree with the flying cleavage. Course I have no flying cleavage to speak of! Got about half way through Emily's tape which I love when DD woke up. Can't say I blame her as the sun was streaming through the window this am for the first time in days. Hope to get a good hour in tomorrow of firming as we have a christening party which means CAKE!!

Ok, I'm officially going insane. I want to work out so dang bad its killing me. La la la la la! I'm trying to take it one day at a time and listen to my body and take it easy but I so want to start doing cardio and jumping on my feet and running and doing step and everything else I can't do.

So alas I will go home tonight and be good and do my upper body work that I can do while sitting and be a good little girl.

Just had to share my frustration with you all because I know you understand.

just a light workout for me this morning. Jiggle free abs. Love those abs!!! I must agree that Stephanie indeed looks as if she's coming out of her clothes!!! I've gone and made sure that I don't come out of my clothes when I'm exercising. That would be entirely embarassing :)

Got about 48 mins into super cardio mix when DD woke up. I swear I can never get through this tape without one of the kids waking up. This is a good cardio tape as it is about 63 minutes. Though Allie and Jen look so young.

I did Aerobic Body Shaping again today. It's amazing how much stronger I felt after a rest day.

Just FYI I started the May thread for us.
