Is there a good place to sit and be able to see fireworks and projections with an autistic child?
They used to have benches in the circular area that they would let us use if they weren’t filled but not sure what else to do if they don’t have that anymore.
We’ve purchased dining packages for everything else to give him space but can’t for this.
Help?

What I have done for my son is to go in the area in front of It's A Small World, they do the projections there and you can see the fireworks as well. Doesn't get as crowded as main street. I haven't seen the current fireworks and I think they may have some characters appear by the castle which I am guessing won't be visible, but the projections and fireworks are good.

You can sit by the Main Street train station. Lot's of space to be had there, it is not as nice as being in the hub but it works out ok.

We tried the train station years ago and while it had more space we couldn’t see the projections and barely heard things.

Can anyone say if they still have that bench seating in the circular area??????

I really would recommend an alternative - Tomorrowland Sky Lounge experience. I personally use DAS and because of such dislike the crowds in the hot spots.

Now let me preface this by saying , no you won't see projections BUT you will have your own table and space to come and go as you please and for me, THAT is the value in it.
I've been known to download a 4k video on my phone and put it on the table to watch AS the show is going on , as they do pump the music in. I personally had an amazing experience.

Here's my review I did recently that may help.

It’s not even available (sold out) for my dates and my son likes the projections.
We’ve done it before where we were lucky enough to get Disney magic by a cast member seeing my son was struggling in the crowd and said their seating was vacant that night.
Was hoping they had a new system in place or something.

Okay just wanted to offer an alternative just in case , I'm the type that prefers to give realistic information.
While pixie dust can happen , unfortunately with the popularity of the new show it would be less likely especially on the busiest days/times. Understanding that VIP tours are not feasible for many would be the only way to guarantee seating and such.

I'd love to see a dessert party option like at WDW however logistics make it a challenge.
I understand these aren't the answers you were hoping for but understand you aren't alone and many of us wish it were setup different. I still hope you have a great trip.

This was last June, but there was a lot of room towards the back of Main Street. I popped in last minute and didn’t have trouble finding a spot with no one near me.

How old is your child? My then 6 yo with sensory issues and FASD, but not ASD, did fine in the area where the flag is. We didn’t even get a spot very early. My then 7 yo with ASD had gone home with dad much earlier in the day. 🤣

I have 2 autistic sons and we either watch from near the train station or just outside Carnation Cafe on Main Street. There, you are far back enough to have plenty of personal space but still can see the projections and castle.

You won't be able to sit in those benches near the hub. They are strictly for VIP guests now.

Are they doing projections on the Main St. buildings for this fireworks show do you know?

My son is 17 (and taller than me)
We haven’t been to Disneyland since he was 11??
He really likes the projections and the music keeps him calm over the booms
We tried the train station years ago but it was a bust. Couldn’t see projections and barely hear music.

I do appreciate everyone’s suggestions. All of our autistic kids may be different but we all try to pull together to help them

Are there spaces reserved for guests with mobility devices for the fireworks, as there are in Disney World? (Not a suggestion for the OP, but an add on question).
