Fireworks viewing at California Grill

We have a reservation at CG for 9:35pm on my wife's B-day. The fireworks start at 9. It was the only reservation available. Will they let us up early to catch the show? The lady from ADR said it was up to the CM at the "podium" downstairs. Has anyone had a late dinner that may have experienced this?

I am not sure how strict they are going to be, although I am sure they would let you up there and I am willing to be your not the 1st set of guests with an ADR after Wishes and wanting to go up there to watch them. However one thing the Cast Member said which is wrong is that the California Grill check-in desk is not in the lobby, it's located on the 2nd floor of the Tower.
