Just got back from our 7 night Magic Cruise (11/27-12/4) and I wanted to share the good news with everyone who's sailing after.....Disney is the ONLY cruise line in the ENTIRE industry that just got the permits to shoot off fireworks out in the ocean from the ship. We were the first passengers to witness such a beautiful event during our Pirates night. It was spectacular! Only Disney can pull such magic off!

That is exciting indeed!! During our cruise (Aug 28th Magic) we saw the new Pirates deck party and were very impressed with it. I can't imagine how great it must be now with the added fireworks!! I have a year and 9 months to wait. :teeth:

The only drawback we had (they might change it) is that the fireworks didn't start until pretty late....I think around 11:00 pm (i didn't have a watch on). The next morning EVERYONE had to show up for immigration before 8:00 am.

That is great news, but Disney did indeed used to shoot off fireworks onboard....we were sailing with DCL since day one of their operation and had fireworks onboard before. Then they stopped (maybe because they needed those permits)....anyway glad they are doing again!!!

I do seem to remember on our first trip on the Magic (4 day cruise in the old days) in 1999 that we had fireworks that were shot off from the stack above the old ESPN Skybox.

We can't wait until our next cruise in Sept. '05 on the Magic. This will be our first back on her after two other Wonder cruises. Hopefully, we will have a hurricane free cruise next year.

Yes I have cruised twice on the Magic and yes, in the past (2 years back) they did have fireworks. I remember the cruise director bragging about Disney was the only cuiseline in the industry with the permits to carry and fire pyrotechnics. I never knew they stopped, glad to hear they are back.

I always heard about fireworks from the DCL ships but never saw any. I am thrilled to know that this has come back and we will be seeing them soon!

They did the fireworks on our first sailing Feb. 2000 and none since.....looks like they started the sailing after our 11/20/04! :smooth:

There is a joke in there somewhere, Lampie, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it.....

Any one know if they shoot fireworks off the Wonder? We're sailing in January, but I don't want to share this little bit of information until you let me know! :smooth:

Please don't tell your children this - (1) things do change and they might be cancelled and (2) the expression on your children's faces would be priceless if they surprised by them.

Not sure if they do this on the Wonder or not, where's Barb (inkognito) when we need her? BARB??!!!
