What time do you recommend finding your spot for fireworks at Magic Kingdom in the summer? We are going next week on a night that they have evening extra hours for deluxe guests (Wednesday). Not sure if that adds to the crowds, but thought it was worth mentioning. We also want to be on the front side of the castle, able to see all the projections. I’m hoping one hour before showtime is enough to get a decent spot? Doesn’t have to be the best, we just want to be able to see the projections. Any advice is appreciated thanks.

In summer, crowds will form 2 hours prior. Depends on how "unobstructed" a view you want. And be warned, no matter where I have picked to watch, someone puts a kid on their shoulders in front of me and I have to move around to find a new spot, and one that does not block people shorter than me because I am considerate...

Personally I think getting a spot super early is a waste of time because people always shove their way in and even if you had an unobstructed view to begin with, several people will move in front of you by the time the show starts. I was there last month and got a spot 15 minutes beforehand in front of the castle and it was fine.
