Fireworks in oct

Are the fireworks different in oct then the rest of the year this year?
Arent they doing special 60th anniversary ones? Will i see those at all in oct?

Normally they only present fireworks on weekends in October, but this year they are presenting Disneyland Forever (the new 60th Anniversary Show) on all non-MHP nights. On nights when there is MHP, they present Halloween Screams during the party.

Also do you only get to see fireworka on mhp nights if you are going to the mhp? There are 2 during when we are trying to go... But i love the fireworks and dont want to miss them!

Yes. On party nights only party guests see fireworks. On non party nights they will show Disneyland Forever.

You could kind of see the fireworks from locations outside of DL on MHP (e.g., the Esplanade), but the best views are inside the park and you would need a ticket for MHP to be in the park at that time. Fireworks are at 9:30 pm on MHP nights. For the non-MHP nights, the fireworks times vary (e.g., they're at 9:30 pm on Sat, Sun, and Thu and at 8:35 pm on Tue this week).

So where are the best spots in the park and out? Does the best spot vary based on the show?

For inside the park, I still think the best spot is on Main Street near the Hub for both shows. That being said, I also think further down Main Street is okay for Disneyland Forever, but you miss out on the Matterhorn. In terms of the external viewing locations, I'd probably opt for the Esplande, but they don't pipe in the music and you won't see any of the effects on the castle or the flying characters.
