Fireworks in August?

Hubby and I just booked a quick anniversary (our 11th) for August 11 - 14. We will be staying at our favorite resort - the Hard Rock!

Will there still be nightly fireworks at this time? I remember going last year about this time and we hit the last night of fireworks.

Also, any ideas for an anniversary dinner? We usually do Tchoup Chop when it is just us without the kids, but our last experience wasn't that great. How is Emeril's on CityWalk? We may just do Margaritaville, it is my all time favorite!!

Also, we tried to watch them from the pool at the Hard Rock and that sure didn't work. Make sure you're room is facing the front drive, it looked good there.

The fireworks are only at USF this year. It's best to go there and watch, standing in front of BTTF. It's good to head over there at 09:30pm. The snack stands close at this time, so if you want something to eat or drink, get it early. The show starts at exactly 09:50pm. There are a few pods in the lagoon that shoot off smaller fireworks. The big shells are launched behind MIB. If you are standing near BTTF, you'll hear the explosion the same time you see the light. Scroll down this page and you can watch the end of the show.

The parks will be crowded the 2nd week of August. Margartaville sounds like a good choice. I'd go there early at 4pm for happy hour, eat, bring the left overs back to the hotel, rest, then go see the fireworks show. If you go at 8pm, the restaurant will be packed and the service slow.

We had a great view of the fireworks last Friday from our cabanas (#7 & #8) at HRH. In fact, we were commenting on how good life was - at Universal, in the pool, watching a movie, with the fireworks going off overhead. And if you strained a bit to the left, you could even see the tops of the lagoon fireworks. So, head over to the side of the pool where the themed cabanas are and the fireworks will be right over the beach club restaurant. The only thing you couldn't do was hear the music.

Thanks everyone. I actually remember watching them last year from the HRH pool. We could see them great. We will probably watch them from the parks at least one night. Does anyone remember when the summer fireworks were in IOA? I loved that!
