Fireworks from outside the park

Where is the best location to watch the evening fireworks show from outside of the parks? We will be arriving on Friday afternoon (May 20th), and would like to be able to see the fireworks, but do not want to have to use one of our days from our 2-day passes (this is going to be a quick trip on our way to Sanibel Island). We will be staying at either Pop Century or ASM, but we will have our car and are willing to drive wherever. We will also be at DTD that evening. Does anyone have any ideas of a good place to see the fireworks?

Well firstly let me say I hope you enjoy yourself in Sanibel Island, however, as it is just north of us, be forewarned that it has strong effects from Hurricane Charlie and may look MUCH different than it did previous to your other trips.

About Fireworks. I can definately tell you about locations outside the park.

Firstly for Wishes: go to MK in the evening (parking will be free) and park and go to the Ferry boat Landing, OR walk to the poly beach (if they let you on it) and watch Wishes from either of those spots. You can hear the music piped in at both spots. In fact, I think the Ferry Landing is among the better spots for wishes as it has great color effects on the lake.

For Illuminations. You can see them pretty good from the right side of the parking lot if you want to go and just pull up to a spot and watch.

Also for Illuminations you could go to the boardwalk (they'll let you in to visit, even if you stay offsite) or go to CBR and watch from the beach.
