Fireworks from monorail resorts

Hi all! I’m planning a bachelorette trip for next month. On our last night my plan was for us to hop to each resort on the monorail loop, ending at Top of the World lounge to watch MK fireworks. TOTW has yet to reopen though so I want to make a backup plan. I’d love some ideas of places to watch the fireworks from either GF, Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower, or Poly. Our plan is to visit the bars/lounges, so I don’t really want to make restaurant reservations, but I’m open to it. And I’d like a spot where I know they pipe the music in.

Our current plan is to visit Trader Sam’s at Polynesian and Enchanted Rose at GF. I’m thinking the Outer Rim might be a good backup at Contemporary? Anyone know if you can see fireworks from there? We are DVC owners if that helps. TIA!

Might be a departure from what you're looking for, but the beach at Polynesian is a great place to watch fireworks and they pipe in the music, as well as the dock in front of Gasparilla grill at GF. Both have excellent views of the castle.

That’s interesting. I knew you could watch from the poly beach but didn’t know they piped the music in. Is it a good view? Does the music get piped in at Gasparilla Grill as well? Thanks!

The music does get piped in at the GF. It is a popular place though, we saw someone camping the tables there an hour and a half before fireworks.

One of our favorite places which is not overly crowded is the beach between Poly and the wedding pavilion at GF. The view is awesome, but for some reason they didn't do the music this last time we were there (August). It was very disappointing, but you could faintly hear it from Poly. We scrambled to the dock to hear and watch it, except those yellow dock lights are extremely annoying, they should dim them for the fireworks.

In my opinion, the Poly beach offers the best views (straight on viewing angle), best audio (they installed new speakers along the water in recent years which have really improved the sound level), most space, and most flexibility in terms of when to arrive (eg, you can walk right up or squat 1-2 hours in one of the chairs, your choice).

If it were me, I’d grab a to go beverage at Tambu Lounge or Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace and head to the beach. The Barefoot Pool Bar which is just steps from the beach also stays open until fireworks and has an outside the pool serving window.

Hard to beat the overall flexibility, viewing, drink options, etc at Poly, IMHO.

Plus don’t forget Electrical Water Pageant viewing too!

This sounds perfect. I think I’m going to go with this as our backup plan. I didn’t know they had the music on the beach, sounds like a great, flexible plan B. Thanks so much!

lil trivia about watching from the 'marina' at GF .... notice what the 'sight line' is when you look right down the middle ...... straight to the castle! Makes ya think they did it on purpose .....

the boat landing just outside of Narcos' is good too ... a lil closer . .

p.s. while some of the 'smaller' fireworks launch near the castle, the big stuff lanches outside of the train loop and knowing this explains where the intended 'perfect place' is with regard to perception of big stuff happening over the castle .....

if you do the behind the scenes train tour they point out the launching site .....

Just be aware that without an ADR parking will likely not be allowed at any of the Monorail resorts. So you might have to park at the TTC.

p.s. Double check Top of the World lounge because it has been closed since covid and I wasn't aware it opened up again.

Just to close the loop on your original question. The Outer Rim is on the Bay lake side of the CR but since it is on the 4th floor you can walk to the north side viewing area just opposite the bridge walkway to Bay Lake Tower. There is seating and piped in music at the 4th floor viewing area.

Perfect, thanks!

Wow, this actually looks really perfect. Going to look into this for our group. I see reservation booking start September 17. Thanks for the heads up!

That would also guarantee you parking.

Again, if you are just going to resort hop without an ADR, you may find parking to be a challenge short of paying to park in the TTC and being done before it’s closed. The monorail resort guards are pretty strict that no one without an ADR or reservation for that resort can park - especially closer to fireworks.

Realize I’m reviving an older thread, but does anyone know if the Halloween party fireworks music plays in these locations?

Yes, party fireworks audio is played at the same outside the park locations as regular nighttime shows.
