I was wondering if it was possible to see any of the fireworks shows from any of the resorts? Can illuminations be viewed from POFQ? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, but this is our first time on property.. :)

If you want to watch the fireworks from the resorts your only option is to be at the ones close to the parks. So if you want to watch Wishes go to the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. If you want to watch Illuminations go to the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach, Swan or Dolphin. So I don't think you can see Illuminations from POFQ.

You can see some of the higher fireworks from the Caribbean and the Coronado (both moderate resorts). I can't speak for the other moderates as we've never stayed at them (well, we've never stayed at CBR either, but DH just got back from there).

As the above posters have stated, you can see some fireworks in full from some resorts, and other fireworks in part from other resorts. You can't see everything from everywhere. Walt Disney World is 43 square miles; while there are some resorts close to some parks, many are spread out across the property.

The best fireworks views from resorts are those from the MK resorts - the three on the monorail, and Wilderness Lodge. The monorail resorts offer a particularly good experience; at 'Ohana and the California Grill, lights are dimmed inside the restaurants and the music is piped in during the show. The music is also piped into Contemporary's 4th floor observation deck. Views are also excellent from the beach at Polynesian (though without the music), and even from the entrance plaza at MK, just outside the turnstiles. I've never seen Wishes from Wilderness Lodge, so I don't know how good the view is or if music is piped in anywhere at the resort.

Some of the higher shells from both Wishes and Illuminations can be seen from some parts of the Port Orleans resorts, but bot terribly well.

Illuminations can be partially seen from the Epcot resorts, Pop Century, and Carribean Beach, but you can only see the higher shells, not the lower stuff or the barges in the World Showcase Lagoon.

Sorry about that, Chief. I've never actually watched Wishes from the beach, only from 'Ohana; I didn't know they pipe in the music to the beach, too. That's good to know.

And knowing is half the battle!

You're welcome and at least it's something you know the next time you visit the Polynesian.

G.I. Joe fan?

Actually, I was more of a Transformers boy, but I am looking forward to the new GI Joe movie that's about to be released.

If nothing else, it will have some terrific fight sequences between Snake-Eyes (Ray Park) and Stormshadow.

You can see some of Wishes from WL if you request the north wing of the WL. We were on the third floor, and we could see some through the trees. I would request a higher floor. I think that it varies from year to year and time of year, depending on the fauna.

You can actually see Wishes from the same place you can see Illuminations at Pop. I watched both of them at the same time once :)

I actually watched Wishes from the Poly Beach twice in June, and neither night the music was piped in. This was new, we had watched it there in 2008 and it was piped in every night. I hope this was a fluke but just thought I'd mention it.

You can see the high up fireworks of Illuminations from parts of OKW too. The bridge on Pennisular Road across from the boat dock is a great place to see them. But like CBR, its just the high up ones. But better than nothing.

Do you think it had to do with the area you were standing in, because I heard them around the Hawaii Longhouse.

We were right there on the main part of the beach, near the volcano pool both nights. When we stayed there in June of 08, we were in that same area and they played all three nights we were there. Maybe they were having audio issues or something. I hope they haven't discontinued that! I never thought the music was quite loud enough but it was so nice to have.

I was also thinking they might have had some audio problems and if they stopped playing the music on the beach wouldn't someone have posted that by now?
