I am really confused about the fireworks cruises, from the Polynesian marina.

I just booked.....it's $200 for the 5 of us. But I was told they would add three more people in, because it holds 8. Is that correct? I though they were private?

Is it worth it, for seeing the fireworks? We also are staying Poly concierge, and can see it that way, but I though this might be special.

We booked ours for just the two of us. Of course we had room for 8, but it was our anniversary, so we enjoyed it all to ourselves. I am sure it is the same way. The CM was probably just letting you know that it could hold more.

The only reason I can think of for adding another party to yours is if you book the cruise as a "wish" or perk with certain packages. Since that doesn't appear to be the case here, it probably was just the CM letting you know you could invite 3 other guests. (This is a great way to split the cost up a bit. See the Illuminations Cruise Central threads for more info.) Whether or not it's worth it, is really based on what you're looking for. Illuminations Cruises get you right up close, and I love that. Wishes Cruises however are not right up at the castle (because that would be kind of hard in a boat.) Instead you get a great long shot from the waterfront just ouside the Magic Kingdom. I suggest you take a look at the video taken by ScoJo15, over here. If that view looks like something you'd enjoy, and the thought of having your own boat, captain, and cruise around the 7 Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake appeals to you... well then, it's probably worth it. Happy sailing! :boat:

Did you book this as part of a Grand Gathering? If you booked the cruise seperately then the price if for the boat and yes it is suppose to be private.

No, I booked it on my own. I was very specifically told that I had 5 people booked, and that if I wanted to add people, I would need to call back, because those spots might be gone.

Truthfully, I want it to be private, and if they will add people, I will probably cancel.

Since you did book it seperately, the entire boat is yours to fill as you wish. They will not add anyone else, only you can do that. It seems like there was some misunderstanding on the CM's part, but here is the usual policy. You have the option of filling the remaining seats with guests you invite, but would need to call back and have the party size changed. This is because they must have life preservers for everyone and base the amount of snacks onboard on the party size. Since you have no intention of inviting others, it looks like you should have no problems with this. I hope you enjoy your cruise! :boat:

You may have booked with an inexperienced CM. Call back, or call directly to the marina.

I've heard that all the wishes cruises now have the sound track piped in. You may want to confirm that as well.
