Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with fireworks on the beach at the Poly with folks with limited mobility?

We are planning a big family trip to WDW in March with 28 relatives. My Mom is a stroke victim and has limited mobilty (walks with a cane on firm terrain) and my niece, 11, has spina bifida and is in a wheelchair, but transfers easily (and can be carried short distances.

We have ressies for Ohana at 5:30, and I'd like to continue with the evening by watching the fireworks from the beach at the Poly at 10. What is access like? Are there chairs? If not, could we bring one for my mom? Are there any other considerations?

Thanks for your help.

Mo

There is a sidewalk paved all along the "beach" area. It also goes out on the area to the right up the little hill where its a bit darker and more secluded to watch. You can see just fine from the chairs all around the pool!

Have a great trip and enjoy! You can also have dinner at Ohana during the firewords. They dim the lights and play the music :)

the sound is piped along the beach. we were there in Jan. My daughter and I went pretty close to the water, but that was becasue she wanted it. Most of the people near us were up by the sidewalk. But you can totally see fine from there.

Staying at the Polynesian next April and looking forward to this too.

Mo - have you thought about contacting the resort direct with your questions and to let them know in advance so they can help as much as possible.
