Fireworks at Hacienda San Angel or Sanaa

Hello everyone,

We just recently set it in stone and made our final payment after our trip being up in the air due to scheduling out a surgery for my mom. In by the skin of our teeth! Thank goodness, dying for a dose of WDW. We love dining and Christmas decorations. That's predominantly why we go to WDW, just being there is the fun! No rush, just enjoy it. Background out of the way...

I have a TS meal on Friday Dec 1, the last night of our trip. Right now I have an Illuminations timeslot ADR at Hacienda San Angel. We will be viewing Rivers of Light at AK prior to bus hopping over to Epcot and moseying through the nations to dinner.

It dawned on me, though, we wouldn't really have another opportunity to make it over to AKL to see the Christmas decorations if we didn't eat over there at some point. Knowing that even with my ADR booked we might not get a firework view, and that we're going to see Illuminations earlier in the week... what would you guys do???

Sanaa's food looks really interesting and online reviews are strong! Mixed reviews online of Tiffins and Jikos made me hold back on the dxdp credit splurge.

We like new experiences. But Illuminations while dining is supposed to be really special. I'm just too torn!

Any opinions are very appreciated.

It's hard to get fireworks viewing. Earlier diners may stake out their tables and not leave. That's lots of travel to get to Epcot if you don't get a seat where you want. I absolutely love Sanaa. I also love Jiko but its not for picky eaters if that's a problem.

We’re doing Sanaa upon arrival at lunch and chilling for a few hours, before going to Satuli? at AK early evening with a 4yo. But doing AK, then AKL, then back to AK makes me cringe.

Yes! The reservation was very hard to get for what seemed to be a kind of mediocre restaurant!! I have heard nothing but good things about Sanaa. We are not picky eaters at all and have tried all kinds of foods before, we are just worried about spending double credits on Jiko/Tiffin since people seem to think it's hit or miss. Have you ever had trouble on your visit(s)?

Oh wow, we're 3 adults and i'm worried enough about the travel that I think i'm going to take shortnsassy730's advice and talk to my party about changing. I heard that the Disney Express busses between parks are "currently discontinued" when I called in today to ask an accessibility question, which means they're not a certainty for when we're there. We used to travel with young children (nannies for a wealthy couple) and the easiest transportation with them was the boats, because they felt like it was a ride. Don't know if you'll have an opportunity but they're great!

I would ask yourself if you'll be ok eating at La Hacienda without a window seat as that's a distinct possibility. My preference would be Sanaa for food and experience, especially since you will have seen Illuminations earlier in the week.

I have never been to Tiffins. I have done Jiko three times and it was excellent every time.
