Is it possible to park at the Poly and watch the fireworks from the beach or do I need to pay and park at the TTC and walk to the beach?

Thanks.

pretty sure you have to be a resort guest to watch the fireworks on their beach. can you imagine how crowded it would be if everyone just went to poly to watch the fireworks? no fair to the people staying and paying a premium price

dont have to be a guest you can go as one of the folowing
As a dvc menber
eating at the resort
wish to have a look around the resort(best one to tell security and they alow you to stay for 3 hours) do some shopping there/thinking of staying there and would like to have a look
Car park never that busy a ploy

in that case, just get an ADR at the poly for that night and either watch from Ohana's or take a walk down the beach after your meal.
You'll also be entitled to 3 hours of parking at the poly

Most of the Disney resorts are more than happy to let visitors in for a hour or two to have a look around and, if you're there at the right time, to watch the fireworks from the beach or other vantage point.

We have watched fireworks from the Poly beach without being guests there - once after having dined at Ohana, other times when we haven't stayed or eaten there.

Last week during our trip we watched Wishes from the 4th floor balcony of the Contemporary. We were allowed to park on the hotel carpark with no problems.

We also visited Wilderness Lodge and the Boardwalk and were able to park up and wander around.

We watched Wishes from the Poly at Easter, just told the security guy we had a meal booked. We visited again during the same stay to buy something we had seen in the shop, told the security guy we were meeting friends.

Neither security guard seemed at all interested in our reasons for visiting. The beach at the Poly was not at all busy....

Never a problem parking at Poly, just go have a Dole whip and enjoy.

Almost without exception they do but you still get the odd security guard that doesn't want you to enter. Last year we got one at the PORFQ, we were going in for lunch on DDP, I showed my DL for ID but he wanted to see proof we were staying at the resort, tried telling us it was for POR guests only, I showed our parking pass for OKW and thankfully he didn't take a close look, no idea why he was so awkward.

Other time was a couple of years back at Boardwalk, I said we were visiting for a look around, he wanted a room number for guests we were visiting or no entry, I was not in a good mood so just drove off and parked up, half expecting security to turn up but they didn't.

We stayed at the Poly last year and the beach was never crowded for fireworks (even in August!). Walk to the beach past the pool and head right (with the castle in front of you) for 100 yards or so. The soundtrack is piped in and it is both louder here and away from the noise of the pool. Enjoy it :)

Can understand with the boardwalk as some people park up and use it as access for epcot,to get free parking
As wer dvc members were alowed to visit any resort to use there pool (yes there are exceptions)

We watched the fireworks from the Poly beach during our last trip. We've visited many of the resorts for a meal or just a general look around and, as we use Disney transport, we've never encountered any problems.

I was really hoping to do this in July, not sure whether it would be too busy or not! I liked the idea of one of those cocktails in the pineapple and sit on the beach watching Wishes! :cloud9:

I really can't understand the attitude of the guy at the BoardWalk. Disney itself advertises Disney's BoardWalk Area (as a completely separate entity to the hotel) under the "Things To Do" tab on its official website.

The only time you will have any issue is on NYE - It was police who were stopping people going into to the polly carpark (the queue was at 25 cars long at 6.30pm when we arrived and tooked quite a while to get through). We had meal booked, they asked to see our reservation (luckly we had a printed copy). They turned all cars away that did not have a hotel or meal booking. Then once we were parked a security guard escorted us in to the hotel and again checked our res. The car in front did not have a copy of there reservation and the police held them until a security guard came and escorted one of the members of the party into the polly to check the reservation before the car was allowed in to the car park (we spoke to them later and the felt really harrased as it had taken then several hrs to get parked/checked in).

So if you plan to go here, by car, to view the fireworks on NYE (and prob on the 4th July and may be even Xmas day). Then I would make sure and have an ARD and a printed copy. However by bus/mono rail I'm not sure if they would stop you.

We just told the guard we were there to look around and he let us in ok.
Great spot to watch the fireworks
