We've been having problems with these fires for a bit.

In fact--a 4 semi-truck crash was attributed directly to the fires. (yesterday on I-95).
They've been shutting down I-95 and 528 in that vicinity everyday in the morning and will be doing so indefinitely.

We NEEEEEEED rain!

Very reminiscent of the fires of 1998.

I drove past it earlier on my way to drop my DD off at Cheer. When we saw it on the way there (about 6:20) the flames were shooting way up in the sky, it was pretty scary. On the way home there was a smaller one right next to 4 too.

I just looked at the video-is it that dark down in Florida already? It is still daylight here in Minnesota (well a little dark because it is cloudy and sprinkling).

Yes--we are on the far end of the eastern time zone--so it is dark now. (don't know when it got that way but around 8ish it is twilight/sunsettish/getting darkish).

I know when we went to Michigan one summer--I was shocked they coudln't do 4th of july fireworks until after 10pm b/c it didn't get dark until then.

Not sure if it is that way in MN as well.

Yes, our fireworks start usually around 10:30. I was amazed that it was full dark in Orlando by 9:00 in June. We were in Canada for a wedding several years ago and it was past 11 PM before it was dark. Actually, it is really nice in the summer, we can golf until about 9:30 PM in June and July. It gives you so much more daylight to get things done. The hard part is this time of year when it is still light and the kids need to get to bed for school.
