I just had to post this, even though it was now two years ago that this happened. I'm really hoping the same guy is still the Fire Marshall (or Fire Chief) that wears black pants, a red shirt and suspenders - heavy set guy and gravelly voice.

It was my DS's 7th birthday, and thanks to the DIS - we knew to get his birthday button (it was actually on his birthday that we went to the Magic Kingdom cuz where else would you go for a little birthday magic?). Anyway, since it was Veteran's Day - it was swamped with people. We decided to leave for a while, and come back later after swimming. On our way out, the Fire Marshall spotted DS's button, and said "what do we have here!". DS was not sure what to think, but he gradually brought him over to the barbershop quartet. He then announced to everyone who could hear on Main Street that it was Michael's birthday, and the quartet sang Happy Birthday to him. It commenced with all of the quartet members putting their hats on DS, and then the Fire Marshall said "since it's your birthday, you go into any one of these stores on Main Street, pick out whatever you want..........and your dad will pay for it!". Boy did that get a lot of laughs, and of course I HAD to listen to the fire marshall - hahaha

DS is so sweet, and I know it just meant the world to him. Out of the course of his birthday, only 2 CM's didn't notice his button! I couldn't believe it. Even CM's passing by or ones that you couldn't imagine being able to notice - DID and it made our whole trip. They all made such a big deal of his birthday, and he would beam each time it was acknowledged.

We didn't know how we could match that trip, but somehow we did - and we went right back and started getting ready for our next trip!

Just had to share our little bit of Disney Magic! I don't know if the CM's really fully know what an impact they can make, but for us - it means everything - especially in this age - when it seems that nobody notices the little things and people really don't care as much as they used to.

One other amazing thing that happened was when Mickey was signing DS's autograph book. Mickey noticed his birthday button, and must have heard us saying his name. In his autograph book it said "To Michael, Happy Birthday, Love Mickey Mouse". I just about fell over!
