Finished our pressed penny holders

**til0726** Thank you soo much! I just pirnted them out & they are perfect!
Now to go get some mentos!

I'm a little ify on the pressed coin fab...I'm wondering if anyone has any idea of what to do with them later...like after the vacation? A tube full of pressed coins and nowhere to display them or do something with them just doesn't sound very interesting. Am I missing the idea completly?

You can purchase pressed penny books to put the pennies in

You can get them at the WDW gift shops or online from several places.

Hi! I'm going to the world this April and want to do the pressed pennies. I already have the mentos container, and I have to buy the m & m container this week. My question is how much money did you put in the m & m container? I want to know how many quarters and pennies I need. Thank you!

My kids love pressed pennies, so I looked up the list for the parks. There are literally hundreds of machines in the parks!:scared1:

You can see a list of designs and locations here:

We finally decided to fill one tube for each kid....the m&m tubes are about 8 inches, so it should be $15-20 each. They will just have to pick and choose their favorites.

I do have a question for others who have already done this-- how well do the pressed pennies fit in the Mentos containers? Do the drop in and stay flat? Are they difficult to get out? It is hard to judge by looking at the container in the store...the shape is right, but the size looks small.

A tip for those making the pressed penny tubes and traveling by plane: Put the pressed penny money in your checked bag or loose in a ziploc if packing it in your carry-on! TWICE (because I didn't learn the first time:rolleyes1) TSA had to inspect my carry-on due to the change in the m&m tube. I guess a cylinder of solid metal looks mildly suspicious :rotfl:.

:lmao: I was just wondering if we could check them in our suitcases!

The last time we went was in 98, but my boys were almost 2 & 6 at the time & really enjoyed doing the pennies. I have them displayed in my scrapbook of the trip, with pictures of the park where we got them or just put on the front page. We didn't know about them beforehand last time, so I'm excited to take the change to have ready this time. :)

I told the screeners, before they scanned our carry ons, that I had a rolls of pennies and quarters in my bag; no problems whatsoever (well, except for the fact that I had two juice boxes in the stroller I had forgotten about, which resulted in the screening line being shut down for a few minutes, and some in-depth questioning and testing done by TSA, but that's another story . . . :rolleyes1).
