That is the rumoured start date for Americans. Maybe there will be an earlier start date for Canadians? I guess we'll know soon.

On the daily fix yesterday there was mention of this but it was not a confirmed rumour.

Kenny the Pirate put up a post yesterday. His stuff is pretty reliable before he posts it....but it's still only a rumour! But, rumours are good when it comes to Free Dining!!

This happened to us once so all we did was still arrive on our planned day but didn't go to a park that day. We paid for a Room only reservation the first night , paid for meals OOP that day and then purchased the Free Dining package starting the following day. I have even heard of people buying a room only reservation the night before but picking up their tickets and starting to use them the day of their room only reservation.

Don't give up hope. You might need to be a little creative but it can still be done for sure!!

In the past you have had to call in to make the changes to your reservation. That's why I just wait for the free dining announcement. It is do much easier and faster to book online once the promotion is released.

If you can access and modify your reservation online you can add free dining online too. You just have to be really persistent, checking very often. We did this for our Nov 15 trip. Once FD was released, I tried a phoning, unsuccessfully, and a few times I couldn't even get into the Disney phone system! I then started checking online and after a couple of weeks I finally got it! It looked to me like some people had made multiple reservations and were then cancelling the ones they didn't need. Just click on the link alongside your resort package in MDE.

Yup. I think it started last year around Aug. 17th.

FD is up! and there appears to be a different start date for us Canadians. The Canadian offer starts on Aug 14 while the American offer starts Aug 23rd! was able to modify my reservation this am to start Aug 22nd!

I'm going from November 6 to 11 and they blocked those day for FD and even room discount stop at November 5th I hope that at least discount room will be offer around August

I'm in the same boat. We arrive Nov 5. Fingers crossed that eventually there will be added dates in Nov for the RO discount.

I hope all those wanting free dining got it. I heard the phone lines were horrendous, 90 min waits on hold.
For us being 2 adults, staying at a deluxe, free dining is never the better deal over room discount. So I'm sticking with our room discount.
Now, if Wdw would release CAD at par, THAT would be a good deal

No, not since I've been around these boards anyways. They used to have FD beginning of the year with dates Jan-Mar, but they did away with that a few years ago as well.
