Hey everyone!! I have a serious problem with my hands. I have warts all over them. Some big, some small, some in between. I have them in several places, and one even under my finger nail! I am not sure what to do!! :confused3
I have tried yanking them off, but it doesn't work for the big ones. And with the small ones, they come back. I have tried the freeze off stuff in the store, and even went to the dermetologist. I got my warts burned, but it didn't help.
I don't know what to do. I am getting sick of them. It I try to yank them, will the virus spread? When I type, does the virus spread through keyboard? If I so much as touch the warts, will it spread?
What I am supposed to do? I have looked up on the internet, but nothing seems to answer my questions.
So now, I am asking my good vmk friends.
What do you do when you have warts, and how do you get rid of them once and for all?
Thanks for looking!

keep going to the dermetologist, do not mess with them, they do spread when you mess with them!!

keep going to the dermetologist
my son had to go three times to get ONE to be gone!!
hope you can get it taken care of soon!! it is not fun!! let the dr know how many times you have had them frozen/burned etc!!!

Common warts - usually grow on the fingers, around the nails and on the backs of the hands. They are more common where skin has been broken, for example where fingernails are bitten or hangnails picked. These are often called "seed" warts because the blood vessels to the wart produce black dots that look like seeds
What about the problem of recurrent warts?
Sometimes it seems as if new warts appear as fast as old ones go away. This may happen because the old warts have shed virus into the surrounding skin before they were treated. In reality new "baby" warts are growing up around the original "mother" warts. The best way to limit this is to treat new warts as quickly as they develop so they have little time to shed virus into nearby skin. A check by your dermatologist can help assure the treated wart has resolved completely.

I used a bandaid style wart treatment for warts that refused to go away. They have been gone for several years now without additional treatment. I believe I got it from Walmart. Keep using the bandaids until the warts are completely gone. If my skin got irritated, I would leave the bandaid off during the day. Good luck!

I would keep going to the dermatologist ..they take LONG time to go away and STAY away. My wife also could not get rid of warts on her hand until she tried TINEMED you can find it in your local drugstore. It took a long time but when done faithfully it does work! and stop picking! good luck:thumbsup2

Ah.. Thank you very much everyone. Sorry for the delayed reply. I have actually got mine burned 4 times already..
I am wondering, what is the bandade treatment?

Burning never worked for me either. In the wart treatment section in the store they make bandaids with the medicine in the pad. The ones I used were made by Compound W and are called Easy One Step Pads. There is a phone number on the box: 1-800-443-4908. Make sure you use them until everything is gone.

I had a couple of warts on my big toe. Compound W wart removing pads did the trick.

I agree though, I would talk to your doctor.

My aunt is a doctor and one time I was complaining about a wart on my hand. She handed me a roll of Duct tape. The chemicals in the adhesive on duct tape is similar to the stuff that is in wart removal. I did try it and yes it does work.

My DD10 had this about a year ago, the spread to her whole body from just one on her hands. I took her to the dermatologist, who burned them off, and then prescribed Aldara, which we applied to the little ones. Problem went away and has stayed away.

About six months ago, my DS13 developed a wart on his finger. He kept fiddling with it and fiddling with it until it got to the point where it had spread on his hands so badly that he kept his hand in his pocket all the time.

One weekend, I made him start putting the Aldara on them. By Monday he was already showing an improvement. By the next weekend, they were all gone. No recurrence to this point. But, I have plenty of Aldara on hand, no pun intended!
