Fine Art Photography Mini Session

This is true for photopass photographers, the Disney Fine Art Photography is different. I've used them several times and they are professional photographers. There's an assistant and real photography equipment is used. I personally was pleased. I prefer the enhanced session over the mini session but that's me. I think results are dependent on the photographer used and your personal preferences. If you are picky then I would convey that to the photographer during your session. We did 2 separate enhanced photo shoots at Epcot and were pleased with the composition and lighting both times. Two of my daughter's photos from Epcot are still up on their website : ) The mini session at MK had some good shots and some ho hum shots - I think that's typical though, you're never going to like all of them.

Are you able to share one so I can see an example? Were you able to make a request as far as which photographer or do you remember who yours even was? I’d love to see a real example of a shot from a mini and an enhanced

I'll message you, it takes me forever to figure out how to upload a picture on the board lol.

I am a photographer as well, and I can tell you that the vast vast majority of photographers will not ever provide RAW files to a client. I put it specifically in my contract as many others do as well. RAW files are basically unfinished, they require finishing up basically in professional editing software. You could not just send a RAW file format to be printed, and the files are very large so delivering them would even be difficult.
Yeah, that's exactly why I would take a raw file if it were possible, I shoot raw my self and would prefer to process them my self and spit out jpgs as needed, especially when it looks like they aren't even doing a good job.

I know it's not normal to provide them which is why I didn't push it. I'm not sure why you think I or others in the thread would ask for raw files without knowing what they are.

*Edit
Perfect timing I just received my revised photo's, they did do what I asked but just goes to show how they really didn't spend much time if any post processing.

I know the OP wasn't asking about the Premier session's but my warning is simply that if the Premier can be like this I would not advise going with the cheaper package.

In the end my pictures are acceptable, but not great especially considering the price point.

I had to screenshot a lot of these from Facebook, so they might look a little blurry. All of these photo shoots were in the morning (between 8 and 10 AM)

Agree totally. I just want to RAW file because I am a photographer and i trust my work over others and would want the final creative control. But I know, no professional photographer would do that. i wont. to my point below.

not to pick on you here. but this is why most photographers HATE giving digital files. people do all sorts of weird instagram filters or put the photos in blogs or failbook. I do not want someone "changing" my work, then some months later....posting it...saying xyz photographer did this work.......when that may not be the final work the photographer signed off on.

i would not want some low rez copy of my work being shared to a disney forum and have that be a representation of my work.

She did say it was her fault they were blurry ;-) My clients sign off on my contract stating I don't permit editing of my images (whether than be in Instagram or Photoshop) once delivered to the client, but people screenshot stuff all day long, no way to prevent that. Thats the risk of digital work! It was enough to show me what I needed though, thank you @AllThingsMickey4 !

WE did two session with DFAP, one at Animal Kingdom, and a few years later at Beach Club. U was extremely impressed with both.

Has anyone ever done theirs at Contemporary in the morning with the castle in the background? 1 - what direction would you be facing to do that? and 2- how long of a walk is it to the spot where you can get the castle behind you, from the MK bus stop?

I didn't edit or put "Instagram filters" on any of these photos.. I don't even have an Instagram, but I guess since I'm a female in my 20's that automatically makes me someone who filters my photos. Ill send you every one of my 300+ pictures to prove it. I love the way all of my photos turned out and wanted to share my experience since someone on here asked to see examples. Mostly I wanted to show the difference in styles with different photographers. I did say at the beginning of the post they were blurry because that was the only way I could upload them.. and I would hope no one would think 3 different photographers delivered blurry photos. When most people encounter a good vendor, they recommend them for their service, but I guess in your case you'd rather not have the advertisement.

I think it was obvious that I was trying to help someone with a genuine question here, and your attack with the assumption that I edited my photos was unwarranted and off topic.

Leaving this thread now and deleting my post so my blurry photos don't offend anyone else
:thanks:

Ok so they are allowed to change their settings? Are they actually Disney photographers or contracted? I’m just looking at the mini, and my concern is that they hand you a flash drive immediately and don’t do any clean up work on them.
We did the mini session twice now and both times they hand you a flash drive right after the photo session so my guess is they do not do any type of touch ups. You can call them and ask if they will shoot in raw but I would think they don't do that automatically.

ll i said was this...." low rez copy of my work being shared to a disney forum " .... in regard to you pictures. Apologies if you took it that way.

Combining of several topics collateral damage.
