Finding Waldo and Dodging an ECV: Multi-tasking in WDW! NEW 11/11 AGAIN!!?? WOW!

That's because you're nice, T

I second that!!:thumbsup2 I have to admit it frosts me when a wheelchair or arrives at a long line with 10 other people Don't get mewrong I have NO problem with the person in a wheelchair and a family member or a couple of kids getting on, but when they all pile in first :scared1: You are rght it is not fair to the others who have waited for a seat to stand or wait for the next bus!! Jusy a pet peeve of mine !!

Poor thing could barely handle the thing without people messing with her.

Aw...

The rest of us were too tired as well, so we found a huge group of people to give our 10 FP’s to. They were so excited as they were about to skip SM due to the line.

Sweet!

Well most of us did. :sad2: TE’s scooter went Cujo on me and she ran me down as I tried to stop her from jumping the curb. I ended up with bumper rash from knee to ankle and my poor croc was ripped from my foot and tangled somewhere under that evil scooter. Thankfully, Andy was able to get my croc and we were on our way, but not before TE almost took out a MK security guard. Turtle power, TE! Turtle power!

Oh, no! :scared1:

He looked over at me and said he had the best birthday with all his friends and cousins. Sweet dreams were in order tonight. :cloud9:

What a sweetie! :goodvibes

See, Rick had been messing with TE and either the speed of her scooter or the direction in which it traveled all week.
TE has the patience of Job, I swear.
Evan, Leo and Maddie wanted to hit Barnstormer, and to be honest, I don’t know WHAT happened to LL her boys.:confused3
LOL, me neither! :confused3
I hate that feeling of sweat just rolling down your neck or a sweaty upper lip.
See, by August, I'm used to it - I don't like it, mind, but I'm used to it.
We thought we’d hit up Philharmagic, and since Leo isn't into it, we parted ways with V & Leo and made plans for pool-thirty the next afternoon.
AH, so that's what happened! I couldn't remember how we wound up separating.
We told them to have fun and we booked it outta there before Wishes could start, unfortunately we ran right into Spectromagic.
:rotfl2: I love that we all inadvertently wound up seeing Spectro... form different places around the MK!
Everyone that is, except Evan. He was on cloud nine. He looked over at me and said he had the best birthday with all his friends and cousins.
Awwww, I'm so glad he had a great day! :goodvibes:hug:

Just found your TR... LOVE the brown peeps shout out (my husband is one of the island variety - Puerto Rican). Great reading!

What a fun update, T!!! The pictures tell it all. You guys had such a blast.

Poor TE in her scooter and yikes poor you for getting run over.

T what a great decision you made about not all getting on the bus :thumbsup2

:scared1: I'm glad you got your shoe back but your foot! You weren't kidding about those tire marks.
Those tire marks are crazy!! I wish I'd have taken a picture of my ankle/foot/leg area. :sad2:
That ECV is a Weapon of Mass Destruction!!!!!
You're telling me! :headache:
Jusy a pet peeve of mine !!
I know, mine too Rosie.
What a sweetie! :goodvibes
Yeah, he was a happy camper. :goodvibes
Glad Evan had such a great birthday celebrating with his family and friends. :goodvibes
He did, although I probably won't do that again. Poor kid was so confused when his "real" birthday party was going to happen. :guilty:
TE has the patience of Job, I swear.
Well, sort of. She was on her best behaviour, because I can promise you that at home she would have slapped them silly.

AH, so that's what happened! I couldn't remember how we wound up separating.
I think that's what happened. :confused3 But now that I think about it, we didn't even see Philharmagic that day.

Yay! Thanks for reading! :lmao: at "island variety"!
What a fun update, T!!! The pictures tell it all. You guys had such a blast.
You mean all 2 of the pics? :lmao:
Loving the report T! You got the luck with the scooters.
Hi Jen! Scooters are evil. :moped:

Poor TE in her scooter and yikes poor you for getting run over.

T what a great decision you made about not all getting on the bus :thumbsup2

What can I say Jo? I'm nice like that. :rotfl: Oh and stay tuned... I get run over WAAAAAAY more times. I tell ya, that scooter had it in for me.

I'm here. Late but I;'m here. Forgive me:flower3: Great 1st 2 days. I'm really mad now that I didn't change our dates. 1st off O would have seen all you guys and 2 I probably would have been actualy able to do something except look at the inside of my eyelids inside Pop Century!

Can't wait to read more:goodvibes

Bumper rash -ouch! Sounds worse than stroller ankle ... I've earned many a war wound threading my way though the neverending gift shop in hopes of avoiding the crowds, but I've yet to be run over by an ECV (there's always next time, I guess;))

Stroller ankle is nothing compared to ECV rash! :lmao:
Hello. Hello. Hello....

Is there anybody out there?

Ya, ya... it's coming! ;)

Sorry for the delay, peeps! Photobucket took a crapper, so I moved on to Flickr. :teeth:

Ok.... back to our story.

The next morning the weather looked weird. It’s what we Californian’s refer to as “Earthquake Weather”, whatever the heck that means. It was humid, the air was still and the sky was mostly cloudy.

We were heading to AK this day and shockingly, everyone made AIS time. There’d be no meeting of LL and V this time, as they were both switching resorts and I know they both hate AK in August. Whatever! Tradition breakers!

We got off the bus, headed through the gates, grabbed Waldo a scooter, and made our way to KS. The “plan” said everyone should head to KS, whilst our FP runners (Andy and Michael) hit up EE for FP’s.

I had read on the DIS that they were testing a new “central” FP area around ITTBAB, so I sent the boys there and instructed them to meet us at the exit of KS. We headed toward the Tree of Life and I noticed there was no one there. C’mon, we weren’t that early … WAIT … were we LATE???!!! Who the heck decided to open AK early this day??? Finally my Ridemax plan was going to work, but now that they’ve screwed around with the park hours that plan was scrapped. :sad2:

We double timed it to KS, as I had no idea how long the flippin’ park had been opened and I feared the line. Waldo hauled booty in rabbit mode to the line and TE … well, TE turtled her way down the path.

We all got in line, or so I thought. Andy called me to say he was at KS and asked if we were on a jeep yet. He ended up finding us via the stroller parking lot and he and Michael joined us on the Kilimansweaty Safari. Somehow when we jumped on our jeep, we were missing TE and Debbie. I found out later they abandoned sweaty jeep in favor of a cold potty. :teeth:

This made me giggle. That, and the fact our guide was hilarious!

Ooh, lookie purty animals!

Oh and flat Kate enjoying the front row!

We exited the ride and stopped for a bite at the snack cart. Everyone was having tummy issues (TMI?), so we all got either an orange, orange juice, or a banana ;) and headed toward Dinoland.

Our first stop was … the POTTY again! Yeesh! We seriously needed to get our bladders in synch!:dance3:

Everyone wanted to ride Dinosaur, except Maddie, so we had to do a little bribe …. Errr… incentive offering. ;) We all followed TE in on scooter and were lead to an elevator where this nice CM gave us riding instructions in SPANISH! :lmao: He was so nice, we didn’t have the heart to tell him “No hablo espanol!”, so we all nodded our heads and entered the elevator. As the door was closing, he asked in English, “Where are you from?” and we yelled back “LA!”. He laughed and said “You guys don’t speak Spanish, do you?” We all started :lmao: It was pretty funny!

We got TE all situated and boarded our jeep/car thingy. Poor Maddie was sweating a bullet. She wanted Andy to hold her and me to cover her ears! Yeah, that made a nice picture!

After the ride, she claimed to "Totally ROCK!" and we headed to the gift shop, you know for the “incentive” prize. They didn’t have anything good, so we told Mads we’d look elsewhere.

Up next was Primeval Hurl a Whirl, home of the stinky arm bars. The line was already 40 minutes, so we passed and hit up Triceratops Spin and the BATHROOM, again! :faint:

I don’t know why, but I really like TS. I also love Dumbo, but rarely ride it because the line is INSANE! Maybe that's why I love TS - it's never got a line, and as my grandma would say "Es da same theng!"

Our FP’s for Everest were ready, so we headed in that direction. Evan was just soooo giddy and excited, you could feel his energy! :yay: We had measured him a million times before at home with different shoes, etc. and he was no doubt tall enough to ride. I think it’s 44 inches? We all walked up to the ride and measured Evan on one of the measuring poles and he made it! So we headed toward the FP line and he was “officially” measured and told “Nope! Too short!” WTH???

I took him out of the line and he just crumbled. He had been so looking forward to riding this year! The others went ahead and I went to sit with TE and Maddie. Evan was unconsolable – he was just crying his little eyes out. It just about broke my heart. :guilty:I brought another pair of shoes with a thicker sole and tried those on with socks and took him over to the measuring pole… still too short.

Continued in next post.....

The others joined us after their ride and Michael suggested I use his socks on Evan as they were pretty thick socks. It was worth a shot, so I did. Max and I followed as Michael carried Evan over to the measuring Nazi with our last 4 FP’s, hoping Evan could get in. He put him down and he was measured….. and given the :thumbsup2:

WHOO HOOO!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Evan was sooooo excited, but I was nervous they’d measure him again, but they didn’t. We ended up in the last 2 rows of the train, which again worried me, as I know those are a bit more wild. We started up the hill and I explained to Evan that he needed to keep his head back at all times. Of course he didn’t listen to me and the whole time I was trying to hold his head back. Have you seen the size of his head compared to his skinny little neck? It’s like balancing a boulder on a toothpick!

The ride ended with Evan yelling, screaming, and laughing his patooty off! We exited the train and he was given high 5’s by all these people! It was really cute! :goodvibes

Unfortunately, I didn’t redneck the picture because the way the picture was taken, all you saw was his hair and my arm across his forehead, trying to hold his head back! :lmao:

Anyway, Rick was so proud of him, he bought him a “I Conquered Everest” t-shirt to commemorate the occasion. :worship:

It was rolling around lunch time, so we headed toward Yak & Yeti. I’d heard good things about this place, so that was our destination after scoring some FP’s for Kali. We checked out the menu and then the seating. Eww. It was all outside and in the sun. We all decided to pass and then had to decide on Pizzayucky or Flame Tree Meat-on-the-Bonefest. I was pushing toward Pizzayucky, because I could get a nice salad, but my carnivorous family decided they wanted to knaw on some bones and cartlige. Bleh.

Flame tree it is then. Did you know FTBBQ is my worse nightmare? Every meat dish they serve comes with a bone or in a casing? Gross. My pickin’s were slim and I thought about the salad, but it had too much stuff on it. I ended up ordering ribs for Maddie and I to share and some fries. I mostly ate the fries and some ribs after it was removed from the bone by my dearest hubby.

We headed back to Kali to use our FP’s and to cool off. The brown people were melting like chocolate! Rick and his family were ahead of us, and they entered the FP line. Andy was still pulling out our FP’s, but somehow he lost 2 of them. So we needed to make a decision on who would ride. We ended up finding 1 more, but still we were short 1. Waldo decided he would sit this one out and just wait for us. In hindsight, this was a bad, bad idea.

We caught up to the others and were seated with a nice family of 3. This was their first trip to WDW and asked about FP’s and stuff, so Rick said “Oh, my sister is the one you want to talk to. She’s the touring Nazi!” :lmao:

I should know by now, to never sit by Debbie, the water magnet. Everytime we get on a water ride, Debbie gets soaked and so does who ever is sitting near her. This time it was Maddie and I next to Debbie. And sure enough, we got drenched! It was nice to cool off, but I hate when you’re completely soaked, and we were! I made sure to keep my mouth closed this time!

We exited the ride and guess who we couldn’t find. Yup. And in my very best Jerry Seinfeld to Newman, eye squishing, exasperated voice I say, “Waldo”.

Yeah, Waldo the Wandering Wonder strikes again. Of course, we didn’t exactly tell him where to wait for us, but you’d think he’d think to stay near the exit, right? Nope.

You’d think he’d turn his phone on right?

Nope.

You’d think he’d, (fill in the blank)?

Nope, nope, nope, NOPE!

We looked all over for him in that area. Finally, we were all so tired and hot and now pretty grumpy, we decided to leave the park without him, figuring when he didn’t find us, he’d call someone. As we started toward the exit, who do you think we found the near the Tree of Life? Yes. We found Waldo. :faint:

Naturally, TE started in on him and he “claims” he went to use the facilities and he got turned around and just started walking. Sure, Waldo, sure.

Rick and Debbie decided they want to see ITTBAB, so they went that way and the rest of us stopped at the gift shop where Maddie reminded us she was still in need of her “incentive” prize.

We poked around that store for what seemed like ages! She liked this, oh but lookie here, she like that now! Andy was about to lose his mind! She finally settled on a Daisy Duck plushie, which Waldo ended up buying.

We exited the park and dragged our behinds to the bus stop. A SSR bus came rather quickly and we were on our way back. The boys called to see if we were going to the pool that afternoon. I told them we were and asked where they were. Would you believe they caught ITTBAB and were already back at SSR? Exactly how long did we browse that freakin' gift shop? :sad2:

Tonight’s plan was a Surf-n-Turf, adults only meal at Narcoossee’s. Or would we have an invasion of the kiddie kind?

But first.... POOL-THIRTY WITH MY HOMIES!!!!
:cool1:
