Finding Waldo and Dodging an ECV: Multi-tasking in WDW! NEW 11/11 AGAIN!!?? WOW!

GREAT, it looks like they found out we're friends with Lauralee. :lmao:
:rotfl2:

we had a lovely view of the pool and the crazy mid-westerners swimming around in 65 degree weather! :scared1:
I hate to get in when it's 80 degrees!

Precious! What a great birthday. :goodvibes

Wow - it really IS alive!! :rotfl2:

Heh heh...that's all I'm gonna say about that...so as to not draw attention to my slacker self...:rolleyes1

GCV's look awesome!! Very cool. Hopefully we'll be able to stay there someday!:thumbsup2

Looks like Mads had a great day. Why can't I ever get a trip to WDW for MY birthday!?!

Well, I'd love to stay and write more, but...I have to go and taunt Janet over the game last night...she owes me a drink!:thumbsup2

IT IS ALIVE! (Said in my best Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein)

The GCH looks beautiful - I love Craftsmen style as well. Did you take any pics of the pool area? Not that I need to see any crazy midwesterners - I can just look around here! But no, I would NOT be swimming in 65 degrees! Cuckoo! In fact, we are having a beautiful week of temps in the 60s (70's last week), and I'm still sporting fleece. Now a hot tub, that's a completely different story...:goodvibes

This is the one ride that Jim and I said that if we never ride again we were fine with that
You need to ride with Evan, he always makes it much more fun than it actually is!
Great Update with in an un updatePoor you and the old computor
Thanks Rosie, on both counts. ;)
Beautiful room, and daughter! It sounds like a lovely afternoon!!!
Thanks, it was!
Umm..... that would have been me.... 65 degree's to us is Summer!
Crazy mid-westeners!
Oh geeze! 65 and I'm practically in a parka! :lmao:
Oh crap, I didn't know about the pics!
Yup. But good news!! Our friend got them ALL out for me and put them on a disk!
It looks amazing!
I think it's right up your alley, V. It's a cross between SSR, AKL and WL. Of course it was designed by the same guy as AKL and WL, but it pretty much stands out, KWIM?

LOL, you kind of do! What's Evan doing?!
Who knows...

:rotfl: That is too funny.
It is now. At that moment... not so much. :sad2:
It could have been crazy Brits out there swimming too, jeez it sounds to me as though you're having a heat wave ;) :rotfl:
 Heat wave?? ;)
Isn't it great to stay at GCH? It's not too hard to feel like you're back at WDW when you stay there. Those rooms look awesome. I did have to take out my magnifying glass though..;)

OGMK....:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Yes it is, Jordan. We loved it and can't wait to go back!
:rotfl2:

I hate to get in when it's 80 degrees!

Precious! What a great birthday. :goodvibes
I knew you'd understand Angela. :goodvibes
Heh heh...that's all I'm gonna say about that...so as to not draw attention to my slacker self...:rolleyes1
Uh huh... right.
GCV's look awesome!! Very cool. Hopefully we'll be able to stay there someday!:thumbsup2
I hope so, too! I forgot to take pics of the very cool water slide that wraps around a giant redwood tree! M would love it!
Looks like Mads had a great day. Why can't I ever get a trip to WDW for MY birthday!?!
Huh? :confused3 Didn't you go for your birthday a few years ago?

Too late. ;) :rolleyes1
:thumbsup2
The villas look great! And so does Maddie! She has such a cute face!

Thanks, Kristel. :)

Oh geeze! 65 and I'm practically in a parka!

You'd find us wearing shorts and tee-shirts too! :rotfl:

Hey after 6 months or more of snow and freezing weather (sometimes -0 or more) you can see why 65 degrees is like summer. :goodvibes

With Maddie all pixie'd out, we headed back to the room to try and rest before Mickey's Trick Or Treat Party.

Everyone was getting a little hungry and we didn't want to waste prime TOT time eating, so we stopped at White Water Snacks in the GCH. I have to say, I'd never eaten here, but I'd read great things on the boards, so we decided to try it.

They had a very small selection of grab and go things and had an even smaller grocery section. The set up was weird for ordering food. You went to the cashier with all your grab and go stuff and then ordered your hot food at the cashier. Weird. Weirdness.

The kids had pizza, Andy had a burger and I had chicken nachos. We were given a number and we kinda sat around waiting for our food. It took awhile, but they boxed it up nicely and we headed upstairs. OMG, my chicken nachos were KILLER! I give them 2 brown :thumbsup2!

Everyone was eating, whilst I was dealing with some Girl Scout drama. It took me forever to take care of everything and Andy was getting PO'd. It was looking like I was going to have to leave hotel at 10:30 the next morning to take care of a product delivery and meet the family later, but my co-leader came through and handled business. :thumbsup2 Though, not before some tension between my lovey DH and me. :guilty:

Anyway, back to my nachos... my lovely, lovely nachos. They were so good, I called TE to tell her how good they were. Oh and to check up on her to make sure she was OK.

Here's our view:

And to the left:

The party started at 6:30pm, so we started getting the kids ready about an hour before and we headed over to DCA. There were conflicting reports about whether or not we could use the "private" entrance for the party or not. We decided not to chance it and headed toward the main entrance to get our party on! :dance3:

October2009405.jpg

Surprisingly, there wasn't a mob scene in the esplanade. We got to the entrance around 6pm and only waited another 15-20 mins before they opened the gates and let everyone in to the rope drop. Naturally, we were at the rope. :teeth:

October2009406.jpg

And much like our WDW trips, we had a "plan". We've done this party since it started, so we knew what our best plan of attack was. We quickly bypassed all the candy stations and the beginning and headed towards TSM. On our way, there were lots of photo ops with no lines, so we took advantage.

We walked onto TSM, twice! :woohoo: And then made our way around the boardwalk to Mullholland Madness (a new favorite!). We were lucky and made our way around the parks just ahead of the pack. There were some really great costumes! We saw the cutest little toddler dressed as Dopey! :cloud9:

And some not so cute costumes....

?????? Professionals??

The place was really starting fill up, so we headed to the dance party and Mads and I danced around with the characters doing the Cha-Cha Slide. I was really shocked to see Maddie knew all the moves!!?? We had so much fun!

Maddie was so excited to run into this guy again:
October2009413.jpg

We decided to grab some dessert and find a seat for the 9:30 parade. We headed to the bakery, where I saw the giant cinnamon rolls and thought of my dear friend, V. :goodvibes Naturally, Evan opted for some sour candy. Blech.

It was around 9pm and I noticed alot of people heading towards the exit. I was excited to finally see the parade! In the 5 years or so of the MTOT pary, I've yet to see the parade! I thought I was being smart this year by booking the villa for day time rest, easy access, etc. BUT my kids were fading and they were fading fast. It was coming up to 9:15 and they were bobbing and weaving. Andy said he'd take them back to the room, but how was he going to carry Maddie AND stroll Evan?

Again, I had to take one for the team, and we headed back to the room 15 minutes before kick-off. Dang it! Well, there's always next year right? *sigh*

Evan fell asleep before we even made it to the room, Maddie on the other hand, couldn't stand her hair up, so she had to shower before she went to bed. And then we dumped our loot and sorted through it. We got alot of candy, but most of it was filler crap. It was disappointing as every year the candy quality gets worse and worse. :sad2: But really, do we go for the candy? Not really.

downsized_1029092133.jpg

We got into the heavenly bed and watched "Story time with Snow White". That was enough to put us all to sleep! :teeth:

UP NEXT: YOU SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY?? :cake:

Maddie's BBB hairdo goes great with her costume - cute idea!

So, DL's halloween party is at California Adventure? I didn't know that. Or do they have another one at Disneyland?

T-
I'm glad you approved of the nachos. They don't realize just what a big compliment that was!
Great pictures! I can't believe you had to skip the parade again!
Did I see Cheez-ums in with the candy? I mean, I like them, but in Halloween grub? Dang!

The set up was weird for ordering food. You went to the cashier with all your grab and go stuff and then ordered your hot food at the cashier. Weird. Weirdness.
What's really weird is that it's not the same system for every resort. Wouldn't it be easiest to have the same set-up everywhere? You'd then have a bunch of employees cross-trained to fill in wherever needed, and your repeat customers would know the routine at any given resort. Disney's efficiency is slipping at a speedy rate. :sad2:

Everyone was eating, whilst I was dealing with some Girl Scout drama.
On vacation?! That had to suck.

Lady Gaga?!?! :rotfl2:

The place was really starting fill up, so we headed to the dance party and Mads and I danced around with the characters doing the Cha-Cha Slide. I was really shocked to see Maddie knew all the moves!!??
Oooo, just wait till we see you guys next - Leo knows it, too! :cool1:

We headed to the bakery, where I saw the giant cinnamon rolls and thought of my dear friend, V.
Mmmm, I could totally go for one right now. :cloud9:

In the 5 years or so of the MTOT pary, I've yet to see the parade! I thought I was being smart this year by booking the villa for day time rest, easy access, etc. BUT my kids were fading and they were fading fast.
Darn. :sad1:

Whoops, I missed the pics. But the kiddos looked great in their costumes!

:sad2::hug:

Too late. ;) :rolleyes1

Naturally, we were at the rope. :teeth:

Aw, they look so cute! I'm glad you got to walk on the rides you wanted, and get lots of character pictures!

Woohoo!

Mads and Evan look so cute and wow those errmm adults are dressed nicely ;) :rotfl:

It seems like you got the same candy as they give at WDW but for us it was good as the we don't get any of it here so the girls thought it was neat :thumbsup2

So sorry you missed the parade again, as you say you'll have to go again next year!!!

Great Update !! Loved the Character pix with the kids !!!
The Characters interaction was great that night!
Definitely got the shoes for it.
The fishnets were spot on, too.
T- the kids looked great in their costumes!:thumbsup2
Thanks, Denise. :goodvibes
Maddie's BBB hairdo goes great with her costume - cute idea!
Didn't it? I thought the FGiT did a wonderful job.
So, DL's halloween party is at California Adventure? I didn't know that. Or do they have another one at Disneyland?
For the last 4 or 5 years it's been at DCA. Years ago they had it at Disneyland and it was soooooo much better!
T-
I'm glad you approved of the nachos. They don't realize just what a big compliment that was!!
True, that!
:lmao:

Great pictures! I can't believe you had to skip the parade again!
Did I see Cheez-ums in with the candy? I mean, I like them, but in Halloween grub? Dang!
That just shows you how crappy the candy was. They were passing out "healthy" snacks, but you had to ask for them. I often asked for the CHeez-Its, sliced apples, fruit leather and raisins.

I think you need to email Disney, V. :thumbsup2

Sadly yes. And everytime we saw her that night Andy would yell out "It's a man, babay!" in his best Austin Powers voice. :rotfl2:
Aw, they look so cute! I'm glad you got to walk on the rides you wanted, and get lots of character pictures!

Woohoo!
THanks, CE.
So sorry you missed the parade again, as you say you'll have to go again next year!!!

I'm doing the parade next year, NO MATTER WHAT! :lmao:

I'm here !! :) Forgot to comment on the Hoochie Mamma costume !! :scared1: I had better rethink calling Steph Hoochie Mamma after seieng that!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
